dorisb
Does anyone know how much the penalty is for late renewal (one or two days) of one's residente temporal?
AlanMexicali
"The Nonimmigrant [Residente Temporal] who is out of the country at the expiration of their immigration documents may, at his return, request an extension or renewal, as appropriate, for which will have a term of thirty days from your readmission [return] as long as you do not overdo the time of absence on time out [more than 30 days] notice of your own migration characteristic." It doesn´t mention a fine if you are "out of the country." Appears you have 30 days to go into the local INM office after your expiry date to renew.

Ajijic
Spencer is right and time based so there are increments in the fine for longer periods. More importantly let's say you have 2 years on your visa and you are late, you can loose credit for those years and start over if Permanent resident is your goal.
