Straydogges
At which government office in Guadalajara do you apply for your license plates once you have nationalized your car and obtained your pedimento?
Ian&Carol
At the SVT office in Chapala they gave us a sheet of paper with instructions. You have to go to this website: http://sefinenlinea.jalisco.gob.mx/citas/ to register your vehicle and make an appointment. Ours is 7AM on tuesday. Intercasa
2 offices, one on road to Tesistan in Zapopan and other by Lazaro Cardenas and Carretera Chapala. Best to check your documents first to make sure all in order and your pedimento is not a fake to avoid arrest and seizure of your vehicle.
Ian&Carol
We live in Tuxcueca, so must go to the office in Tesistan just as was the case to get our returno seguro for our trip to Nogales. The Jalisco on line registry allowed us to pick a time on their soonest available date, which is June 4th.

Straydogges
Thanks for the replies. We have taken the car to a customs agent in Laredo that others have used successfully so hopefully all the paperwork will be correct/legal. Will get registered as soon as we return. RVGRINGO
So, since there are no more appointments available for 2013, some will be driving on a Catch-22 document. Just try not to get stopped by a less than understanding transito. It might test his powers of understanding and compassion. Christmas, always a dangerous time, is approaching. Then, everyone wants an Año Prospero to follow; especially the transitos.
