I haven't heard of any condition/disease by this name.
I think that an ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE PRACTITIONER would be able to handle "ADRENAL FATIGUE".

Adrenal gland

Adrenal fatigue or hypoadrenia are terms used in alternative medicine to describe the unproven theory that the adrenal glands are exhausted and unable to produce adequate quantities of hormones, primarily the glucocorticoid cortisol. Adrenal fatigue should not be confused with recognized forms of adrenal dysfunction such as adrenal insufficiency or Addison's Disease.[1][2]
The term "adrenal fatigue" may be applied to a collection of mostly nonspecific symptoms such as "tiredness, trouble falling asleep at night or waking up in the morning, salt and sugar craving, and needing stimulants like caffeine to get through the day". There is no scientific evidence supporting the concept of adrenal fatigue and it is not recognized as an actual diagnosis by the medical community.[1]
Blood or salivary testing is sometimes offered by alternative medical practitioners to diagnose adrenal fatigue, but these tests lack a scientific basis.[1] The concept of adrenal fatigue has given rise to an industry of dietary supplements marketed to treat this condition. These supplements are largely unregulated in the U.S., are ineffective, and in some cases may be dangerous.[1]

Thank you MyHomeSweetHome. I will follow up with Dra. Beatrice Gallagher.

if you wanted a saliva test...I'm sure she'll order it from the states for you. The saliva tests aren't available yet in Mexico.

I can order the 24-hour cortisol test kit myself from the States. It is hardly anything: four empty test tubes in a box. The problem is getting the 24-hour saliva samples back to the laboratory in the States for analysis.

Because all ordinary mail from Mexico to the States is trucked overland through Laredo, it takes forever, far too long for the cortisol samples to still be valid upon arrival at the lab. The courier companies (DHL, FedEx, UPS) consider saliva samples to be a potentially hazardous biological material, and either won't accept them at all, or demand a certificate from the Secretariat of Health (Secretaria de Salud), not to mention the staggering cost these services charge.

This is why I'm searching for a lab in Mexico that can do the 24-hour cortisol test.

Thanks again,

-- Don

Dr. Beatrice Gallagher does a bio terrain urine analysis that includes adrenal fatigue but if you wanted a saliva test, I'd make an appointment and I'm sure she'll order it from the states for you. The saliva tests aren't available yet in Mexico. I consider myself fortunate, I found licorice root, available at the health food store, I break it up and put a stick in a cup of boiling water for at least 10 min. If you need a little adrenal boost, you'll notice a difference within a day. But being I'm not on any medications, I wouldn't drink it unless you knew it wouldn't interfere with medication if you are.

I saw Dr. Nieves two years ago and she wasn't any help with adrenal fatigue.

So glad you were able to find licorice root, MyHomeSweetHome, and that it helped you. But no-one with high blood pressure, or even a tendency toward it, should ever take licorice root in any form, as it raises the blood pressure. That's no problem for healthy people without hypertension, but can be dangerous for those WITH hypertension.

Thank you Privado, am considering a visit to the endo as well.

Thank you for the link. But there is no EVIDENCE BASED/Allopathic Medical literature according to my latest search.

There is no such condition in any medical text book such as Robbin's or the Merk or any of my Endocrinology books from Medical school.

Vermox doesn't have the side effects of albendazole, it was recommended by a medical friend who also takes it and is also over the counter. It's helpful if you can find out which parasites you have, though some are microscopic and not easily found.

As far as corisol tests go, allopathic doctors pretty much all rely on the a.m. and p.m. blood tests, one trouble is that the labs here open late and close early.

Dr. Bea Gallagher is now working out of her home in Chula Vista, 766 2694.

I have had adrenal exhaustion and retired early after years of trying to maintain professional level dance and music skills in addition to my first full time day job after age 40.  I put in 65 hours a week which included 2 hrs of exercise a day which I did not even feel in my muscles after retiring from pro dance career.  My problems was insufficient rest.  Over a long period of time, this can cause chronic hormonal and energetic imbalances - there are around 200 hormones in the body!  Allopathic medicine probably does not recognize this condition because Big Pharma does not yet have an artificial remedy for it.

I found acupuncture and Chinese herbs to help a lot, plus a long term program of REST, very healthy diet and moderate, gently paced exercise and yoga/tai chi.  Chinese medicine recognizes these energetic imbalances.  Sadly, Dr. Heredia in Chapala, who did excellent acupuncture, died last year.  And it is almost impossible to find Chinese herbs here.

Dr. Gabriel Garcia, an alternative, integrative MD who does electric acupuncture and homotoxological medicine has recently relocated to Centro Laguna and has an ad currently in the GR.  Contact info:  333 841 0653, allesheilkraftig@hotmail.com,  FB/allesheilkraftig....  The reason for the German name is that he is fluent in 4 languages and studied homotoxological medicine in Germany where it was developed.  Those remedies work very very well.

It's possible to get good homeopathic remedies from La Abejita, the little health store next to Bancomer on the Ajijic Plaza.  I go to him first for any common thing.  You can describe your symptoms and he has a remedy, but as far as I know, he doesn't speak English - we always chat in Espanyol.

Buena suerte!

Dang if that placebo treatment isn't effective. It balances your wallet with theirs.

Screw the scientific method, a few herbs and needles is all that is needed. It's a faith based argument against double blind clinical studies.

Adrenal fatigue or hypoadrenia is a fictitious condition believed in alternative medicine, to be the state when adrenal glands are exhausted and unable to produce adequate quantities of hormones, primarily the glucocorticoid cortisol, due to chronic stress or infections.[1]Adrenal fatigue should not be confused with actual forms of adrenal dysfunction such as adrenal insufficiency or Addison's disease.
