shinemoon
Where should I take mom tonight if she can't pass her kidney stone? We are staying in Ajijic.
MyHomeSweetHome
So sorry your mother does not feel well. Superlake sells Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar with the mother and honey. She probably could pass it with that. http://www.livestrong.com/article/32253-cure-kidney-stones-vinegar/
Irish Gal
Note that in the above link is the following warning, "ACV works well to cure smaller kidney stones and to prevent new ones from forming. It may also dissolve larger stones as long as you are not undergoing a severe acute attack that doesn't abate in several hours. The above suggestions are offered for educational purposes. If you have tried any or all of them during an acute kidney stone attack and have not experienced relief within a few hours, seek medical attention immediately." shinemoon
mom was in the middle of a severe painful attack, vomitting and not passing urine in spite of drinking lots of water. I thought she was going to die last night. I wanted to know where to physically take her. We are only here visiting for a few weeks and don't know the area. She was supposed to have come alone I am glad I came with her. When I read the suggestion to take her to the grocery store to buy vinegar I was disappointed. I wanted a location of a hospital or 24 hour clinic. She is sleeping now. I am using her account to post this. Frightened daughter.

Dr. Leon is in Ajijic - call his office 766-5633 and tell them the situation. The Ajijic Clinic is open 24 hours also - I do not have the number. They are right on the highway one block from Lloyds. -

RVGRINGO
She should probably go to a hospital emergency room in Guadalajara. Good choices would be one of the following: Hospital San Javier Hospital Angeles del Carmen Hospital Puerto de Hierro Hospital Bernardette You could take the Directo bus to the Guadalajara bus station, then a taxi to a hoospital, or taxi all the way from Ajijic. She should not wait if the attacks are severe. If you consult a local MD, ask if he knows if there is a hospital with a urologist on call and/or a lithotriptor. Dr.Santiago
Immediate/Emergency care and treatment can be coordinated from my office. I can have an prominent urologist waiting for her at an outstanding hospital in Guadalajara. Even if my office is not open I can be reached via my cel phone number and I can get the ball rolling to get you the care you need or at least point you in the right direction when such needs arise. Best of luck to you and your mother.
shinemoon
I was able to get mom into a doctor this afternoon at Ajijic. Her pain level has decreased and she is moving around a bit better. He said she had a temp. He stressed to her that if she ever can’t pee again she can’t wait to seek medical attention or she might damage her kidneys. Thank you for the responses regarding the 24 hour clinics and office numbers. Her family Dr. has set up an appointment for her to see a specialist when she gets home in May. I am making sure she is drinking lots of water and due to your responses I now have a plan in place for the future. I never want to be that afraid for her again. Shelley Ronnfeldt
Two other options locally for emergenicies are the Maskaras clinic in Riberas, and Cruz Roja in Chapala. Both, along with Ajijic Clinic, are open 24 hours. Vinegar for an emergency? Really? Are you kidding me?
