Problems Mexican buying car with non-Jalisco plates

We have been car shopping and have finally found exactly what we want EXCEPT that the car has D.F. plates and we would need to transfer them to Jalisco plates. Somewhere at the back of my mind, I seem to remember reading (years ago) that this might be problematic.

To date, all cars we have purchased here have had Jalisco plates, so we've never encountered this situation. Has anyone else had experience with transferring plates from another Mexican state to Jalisco plates?? Any advice to offer??? Thanks!
