mkshawn
Spotted at Superlake: a late model CRV 2002-2007 Serial JHL complete with Mx Plates stickered by Dalton Honda. I have a similar 2001 CRV JHL serial prefix which when input into the Mx licensing website says no it can not be imported? How come one is here & MX licensed while mine is illegal? JRPJR
It may have been imported by the dealer which is a different process. I drive a car make in Germany that I bought new from a dealer in Guad.
Mainecoons
They did not start making the CRV in Mexico until sometime in 2007, however you will notice there are a ton of models earlier than that with Mexican plates as the car has been very popular here for a long time. This whole car business is about protecting the price fixing Mexican dealers. It has nothing to do with environmental or safety standards, both of which are as high or higher on cars imported to the U.S.
