Shira
I have had successful bunion surgery in the past. Since I have no idea what Dr. George does or which old method you are talking about (there are many) it is difficult for anyone to answer ths question. Alegria
I had it done years ago in the old way (I don't know if all old ways are the same). It was a success and I'm really glad it was done. Painful for a short time, but worth it.
stuphel
I'm interested in this topic, too. I have Dr. Daniel come to the house to work on my feet once a month, and he, too, recommended the 'new' way of dealing with bunion surgery. Much less invasive, faster healing, less pain and chance of complications. He quoted me approximately $2000 US for the procedure. I'm mulling it over: a lot of money, but permanent relief? Priceless. Canamex
Bear in mind that there are no good pain killers in this country (the ingredients are often extracted for use in manufacturing illegal drugs and so are tightly controlled; most doctors don't even have access to them). bezerk
I respectfully disagree with comment above. I have had numerous surgeries here with wonderful pain relief. Just a brief idea of surgeries and types of pain relief that might be needed...hip replacement..mastectomy...reconstruction...and great pain meds...this is from first hand experience. All surgery hurts, painmeds help but you stil hurt..but the drugs are available in this country, this area and to all dr's here.
