Ezzie
Ceramic floors and granite countertops are unkind to the carafes used on coffee makers. Does anyone know of a place here at Lakeside or even in Guadalajara that sells replacements for most popular brands of coffee maker?
RVGRINGO
No, but you may as well just buy a cheap, new coffee maker. With high voltage and lots of minerals in the water, they do not last too long anyway. Weekly vinegar treatment helps a bit, though. The manufacturers must conspire to avoid having any pot fit another coffee maker, even their own next model.
More Liana
This won't help you much at Lake Chapala, but if you happen to be in Mexico City, there is an entire city block devoted to replacement carafes and other things of that sort. We finally found a replacement for our Bunn carafe there--but it wasn't cheap. 350 pesos, just for the carafe.
Frijoles
I bought one a while ago - I think it was at Walmart.
bournemouth
The thrift stores often have used carafes.
cstone
WalMart and the WED Tianguis may have what you need. We found a replacement part for a blender that was impossible to find anywhere else.
Jeanneb2000
I've seen them at Walmart. Of course it depends on the make of the coffee maker. I know they have Mr. Coffee.
moonhill
Last week Walmart had two styles. But that was last week....
k2tog
There are generic coffee maker carafe replacements at Soriana in Chapala also -- they can fit several different brands of coffee makers. They are on the aisle with the small appliances.
Alegria
I've seen them at the "Dollar Store" on the Ajijic plaza.
bezerk
I have seen and priced many in Guad stores and frankly, may as well just buy a new coffee maker, the prices odf just a carafe are outrageous.
CCC
Why not post the size/make/model you need? Or a pic of it. I have two old coffee makers that are not really functional but both have intact carafes. Be happy to pass on a carafe if it can be used.
Ezzie
One is a 12 cup Faberware bought at Sears in Guadalajara and the other is a Black & Decker 12 cup VersaBrew+. We checked at Sears and they do not sell replacement carafes.
bezerk
I have 3 different carafes, no clue on the brands though one is a black and decker...do you have a picture? Or want to come by and check mine?
