Where was Dr Leon practising in the States and what is his specialty?

I just had a sudden attack of acute diverticulitis, causing intestinal blockage. I found Dr. Hector Valenzuela at Integrity clinic and he got me into Hospital Bernardette, in downtown Guadalajara, which has two cardiac catheterization labs, to cover my heart problems if needed. Surgery removed 1.5m of my large intestine and I was in hospital 11 days. Dr. Valenzuela exceeded my expectations in all matters and I coulld not have asked for a better physician, surgeon and friend; a really nice guy. He visited me twice each day and coordinated with Dr. Briseñas, Cardiologist, who is now managing to get my BP under control as I recover at home.

So, it is good to know the specialist you may need in such an emergency and to have his contact information.

For routine GP seervices, we also use Dr. Lastra.

Where was Dr Leon practising in the States and what is his specialty?

Dr. Leon graduated from the U.of Guad., practiced in Riverside County, CA for years, then moved back to Mexico to practice. He's a General Practitioner. Some specialists are there on different days. I believe he now has a female doctor sharing the practice.

You can usually find parking on the same side of the street as his office, in the same block..so go around the block and be heading east when you're seeking a spot. Be ready for a wait when you get to the office, and it's best to make an appointment. Afternoons are less busy, usually.

He makes house calls when necessary.
