My husband and I have a local guy, Hugo Ibarra, who speaks excellent English, and has made life much easier for us. Last month, we were looking to buy a Mexican plated car on a set budget. Hugo was able to scout the area, including Guadalajara, and came up with the perfect small SUV. He aided us in securing the registration, and even ran for copies needed to complete the transaction. Hugo has also done all of the following for us … Obtained estimates, negotiated price and supervised installation of new screens custom-fit to all our windows. Measured, ordered and installed patterned glass for windows. Enclosed a bodega at the rear of our property. Moved the washer and dryer to the new bodega, which required installation of electric, water, and gas lines. Installed tile. Painted the entire exterior of house, including a lot of ironwork. Cleaned and painted interior rooms. Fixed gas leak to kitchen stove, where another contractor had done poor installation. Locate and install shade cloth on rear patios. Shuttled visitors to and from the airport at all hours. Hugo lived in the U.S. for 10 years, and owned a home remodeling business for much of that time. His estimates and invoices are detailed so you know exactly what you are getting, and what you are being billed (without mark-up on materials). Selfishly, we want Hugo to be available for all of our personal needs, but we want to spread the word of his valuable services also so he can stay in business. He knows how to navigate the system, and is happy to accompany individuals to an appointment. If you need someone who is trustworthy, punctual, and patient, Hugo fits the bill. He helped with all aspects of the search and obtaining the plates/registration. He contacted the 'bureau of motor vehicles' with the VIN to verify the car wasn't stolen, and to see if there were outstanding tickets. His price is extremely fair, and he is pleasant to work with...
