Bus from Monterrey to Reynosa-McAllen??

Anyone ever done this? If so what bus line did you take?

Thinking of flying from Guadalajara to Monterrey then taking a bus to Reynosa then walking across to McAllen.

We have used bus service between McAllen and Monterrey. Grupo Sendero runs every hour, as do others, from the McAllen bus station. We get off at the first bus stop near the Airport exit in Monterrey, then taxi to or from the airport. We then flew Interjet to GDL, which is a 65 munite flight.

It works with total travel time of about 4.5 hours, plus time for a sandwich at the Monterrey airport. Use your INAPAM card for the bus and it is very cheap.

blondie, if you plan to "walk across" to McAllen you are going to have a long walk.

Note: There is bus service from Monterrey to the downtown Mcallen bus station offered by a couple of Mexican bus lines. Grupo Sendero is one of them; I cannot remember the other one.
