el bartman Posted December 4, 2012 Report Share Posted December 4, 2012 Sheldon why would you say, in response to FATCA, that Mexico is a US follower? That seems a negative comment in that it has nothing to do with following and more with reciprocity. The fact, it seems to me, is that the US carries a big stick. It wants its citizens to pay tax no matter where we live or earn income. Ergo they have reached agreements with many, and a goal to reach all, countries which have been used as tax havens. That includes Switzerland which, I believe, violated its very constitution in order to so; and, Guernsey, Ireland and the Isle of Man adhered as well.
