tomgates
I can't find this thread or my notes. Kindly tell me again the best route and (probably) two suggestions for in-route motels, with one nearer to the border to make an early am border crossing. We will probably cross at Santa Teresa.NM rather than Juarez.
Ajijic
Tom not able to answer all your questions but friends just drove that route. The crossing at Santa Teresa was quick and they spent the second night in Las Cruces NM. The trip was uneventful and they enjoyed the change vs Laredo. dcstroker
Don't know your final destination but we drove this route about a month ago. Stayed in Chihuahua the first day, went through Santa Teresa and ended up in Colorado Springs the next day. 2 twelve hour days.
tomgates
One first night in Chihuahua would allow a early crossing in Santa Teresa. Motel suggestions? Thanks
Ajijic
Tom, Bing maps will quickly show you best route. It is 1000 miles to Santa Teresa. The town is very small. At minimum you likely will want to get to Las Cruces. After that it depends on where you are going. Having lived in Albuquerque ans Santa Fe, if they are on your route, worth a visit. tomgates
Just want to see the trains in Abu Canyon. Then continue to Wash state. We have a GPS with Mex maps that has served us well in travels around Mex.
