Hotel on the Cuota between Saltillo and Monterrey

There's not much on that stretch between those 2 cities so either you'd need to peel off at Saltillo or continue on to Monterrey. At the spot you'd exit left in Monterrey to head toward Nuevo Laredo, take a right and about 5 miles down there are several nice secure hotels. We've stayed there a couple of times on northbound trips late in the year when there just wasn't enough daylight to make it across the border.

We often stay at El Rancho Express which is right on the cuota about 45 minutes past Monterrey. They have several restaurants and the motel is clean and fairly cheap as I recall (cheap as in 500- 600 pesos). It is just before the toll booth and impossible to miss.

El Rancho Express is closed now.

American Business Airport is a good one that we have stayed at. You can book it on hotels.com.

If you take the Saltillo bypass it is only about 5 min. back toward Saltillo when you get to the Monterrey-Satillo highway. Don't take the airport exit, but just a little bit further after the airport toward Saltillo. Nice roomes, secure parking, and a good restaurant.
