Jistme
We'd appreciate any information on taking the bus to Laredo Texas from Guadalajara. Where can we buy tickets, and what bus line is the most comfortable ? What time do the buses depart, and do they run seven days a week? If you've travelled this route by bus, do you recommend it? Thanks.
RVGRINGO
You should ask at the bus ticket seller's booth at Walmart, or at a travel agency, or at the bus station in Tonala. Of course, many of the bus lines have websites with prices and schedules.
martygraw
Mexican friends of ours use the bus to go to Larado all the time. They use Transporte del Norte, it leaves out of terminal 8, (centro de autobus) at 6pm, and gets to Larado about 8am. I believe that they have a web site. Guest bigd
Is Transporte del Norte a first class buss, do they go non-stop are there busses clean?
RVGRINGO
It depends upon how many grannies are taking chickens, ducks or geese to their relatives in Laredo. I know you're a 'newbie', but are you really 'that new'?
RVGRINGO
If you want a first class 'buss', you have to be deeply in love. Mexican buses are a lot nicer than buses in the USA; by far!
punxsyjim
And, RV, some people prefer Mexican "busses" over those in areas further north!! (Opinions differ!)
simpsca
Here is an article describing the bus companies and service with a photo of the bus seat - not like anything you will see up north: http://www.amazing-mexico-vacations.com/bus-travel-to-mexico.html
Guest RevImmigrant
That's a long way to ride a bus and if you have any chronic medical problems, They're not that comfortable. They're also COLD so if you take one, be sure to take a jacket. You could fly Interjet to Monterrey, then take the bus from there to Laredo. It wouldn't be such a long bus ride and would be much more comfortable. I think the airfare R/T is about $200 USD.
geeser
I have taken ETN 's Executive class bus to Laredo. I bought the tickets at the Station in Tlaquepaque and left at 5:pm the several days later. If you are an mature person the tickets will be half price with your DIF/ INPAM card. The bus only made one stop in Monterrey at 4:00AM for 25 minutes and I just stayed on the bus. It arrives in Laredo perhaps 15 blocks from the border, so a taxi is in order. You should check on Executive class buses at Walmart bus ticket booth. You will need to get a taxi to bus station. The Bus shows 2 good English movies and gives you a bag of chips, sandwich and soda when you get on. Take your own water and perhaps a snack. martygraw
Just as an aside, most of the long distance bus's in Mexico would put to shame anything that Grayhound or any of the other NOB companys provide.
MtnMama
Long distance buses have cushy reclining seats and usually have a bathroom in the back. And yes they are clean. I think they handed out light blankets but you might want to bring a throw if you get cold.
Tom Leonard
ETN's buses are very good. - Right now they have a promotion and they give a 10% discount if you buy online, here's the link: http://www.etn.com.mx/

Barbclip
Can anyone tell me if there is a shuttle bus or other transportation from the bus station in Nuevo Laredo to the border? (Laredo TX) I'm told a taxi is about $50.00 or more in to town. Sure would appreciate any info you can give me.Thank you. BC
rjkveton
50 pesos is probably what it is, so if you're thinking 50 dollars US that is doubtful. Its only about 3 miles from either of the two bus stations, which are fairly close to each other, to the border.
