Beginning Friday, June 17, Diabetes Educators Lynn Turnbull and Dorothy McCauley, will be offering blood sugar screenings. Who: Diabetics and those interested in being tested for diabetes Where: LCS Eye Clinic Room Time: 10am – 12noon When: Every 2nd and 3rd Friday of the month Starting: June 17 In order to get an accurate reading, please be sure to eat a high carbohydrate and protein meal two hours before you arrive for your screening. Carbohydrates include: cereal, fruit, bread, English muffins. Proteins include: eggs, meat, chicken, peanut butter, Canadian bacon, sausage and cheese. After this meal, nothing to eat or drink until your screening. Why not take advantage of this free opportunity to learn more about diabetes control, or be tested to make certain you don't have diabetes.
