Solfeggio
We ate at Hacienda Ajijic steakhouse on Ajijic's west side last Friday night. There were 6 of us. Despite some mixed reviews on this site (most about expensive wines or steaks being too rare or too well done), all of us thoroughly enjoyed the food and had great service from an English speaking gal. Young guitarist Daniel Cordero was playing, music was excellent, low-key and at just the right volume for either listening or talking at normal levels. He said he is there every Friday $ Saturday for awhile. We plan to go again and you might give them a try. Their salmon was outstanding.

Solfeggio
How was the wine selection? Prices? We had no wine drinkers at our table, so I really can't help with that question. However, if I remember correctly, I believe others have posted that the wine was a little pricey.
gknippel
We went last Friday and LOVED the music by Daniel Cordero. We paid $290 pesos for the exact bottle of wine you can get at Paz for @ $70 pesos. The steaks were OK but @ $50 pesos more than you'd pay at Tango. Oh yeah, we wanted to stay to enjoy the music so we ordered two brandys ... $140 pesos Don't think we'll be going back real soon. But the good news is Daniel Cordero will be playing at La Tasca soon. I highly recommend the vacio (flap steak) normally $160p but on Thursday it is $90. Last week we had the rib-eyes also very good and all the meat is cooked exactly like we ordered. They also have entertainment and the guy playing the violin is really good! The place is always full and there were large groups there but we had no problem with the service. We will be going back again! maw

Daniel is now playing at La Tasca on Saturday nights. We've gone twice and loved his music. Also, according to a very recent ad, he is now playing at Hacienda steakhouse only on Sunday evenings, Las Miche on Thursday nights, Johnny's Mama's bar in San Antonio Wednsday afternoons. Busy guy!
