Milena
Friends are coming down later this month, not sure if driving or flying at the moment, they are hesitant to drive through Nogales with all the fear of narco activity. They need to bring prescription meds as well as herbal supplements for medical issues. I thought I'd heard that only new, sealed bottles of any medications are permitted through, anything open would be confiscated. Is that true? Is it the same for herbal formula supplements? Is there duty payable on same? Gracias for any insight.
Atlas
Tell them to bring the meds and supplements, there will not be a problem with them. People travel the world with their meds everyday. Nogales is not a problem. Flying is must faster though. Depends more on time and costs.
jkgourmet
We had open and closed bottles of plenty of perscription meds on our trip to Mexico in May and on our return in October. We used Nogales both ways. No trouble at all. The only 'difficulty' we encountered was border agents who wanted to pet our dog. Note that we travelled only during daylight and had no meds that are narcotics.
