Torontonian
I have been told that there is an area of the city where fabric shops are concentrated. Can anyone tell me where this is and if it is easy to get to from the bus depot. Thanks. Linda
shmiller
Yes I can. I was just there a couple days ago looking for special drapery fabric and accessories. The area is downtown, one block each of 16 September and the Cathedral. Name unkown but the street is pedestrian only running north and south. Fabric shops start a block south of Vallarta/Jaurez and go a couple blocks north. This street has many but there are more scattered about within a couple blocks west of centro and the big cathedral. Ellie
There are also good fabric stores in Sta. Teresita - around Ave Mexico and Chapultepec. Telas de Vera Cruz is on Chapultepec near the T-intersection. Telas de Villa Nueva - a large two story fabric store is on Pedro Buzeta with a parking lot (and a bead shop) across the street. Lots of other fabric stores within the same area. Full area to wander around. Vilver is a good upholstery/drapery fabric store on Manuel Acuna - the cross street about 4 blocks north of the store Villa Nueva. The whold area is very walkable and you can take a taxi there from the bus station.
