windansea
I may be moving from PV to Cabo, I may be taking a Ford Expedition I have with US Plates that is on a temporary import permit from 5 years ago. I have an FM2, will I have any problems? What papers will I need? Can I pack the truck with stuff I want to bring, clothes, TV, other personal items? (nothing new or for sale) I have taken ferry from La Paz to Mazatlan before with a car I bought in Cabo, but didn't have stuff with me. This is website for Baja Ferries but doesn't have a lot of info other than schedules and prices. http://www.bajaferries.com/index_ing.html
shirley
It was my understanding that you were not supposed to have a NOB plated vehicle with FM2.....hopefully someone with more knowledge can comment.
RVGRINGO
Shirley, You certainly can have a NoB car with an FM2; it is only when you go to 'inmigrado' or naturalization; then you must not have one.
colonel
We just took the ferry round trip. You should not have any problems. A little over $1000 dollars for rd trip with junior suite.
sparks
My van was packed and a kayak on top when I came down in the opposite direction
Intercasa
The only restriction with an FM2 and a foreign plated car is you must be retired or a "rentista" if anything other than that, such as having work papers then you cannot have the car here legally.
