tobyjug
telling it like it is Seems to me a stupid commentary of self gratification..why have the 12/13 million illegals go work for the narco's!!! and let them also pay for their medical and other freebies/benefits
More Liana
telling it like it is I truly dislike most of Fred's opinions and his way of writing, but what he says here is absolutely true.
Kevin K
I agree 100% More Liana - didn't intend to recommend him or his blog across the board, just thought this particular piece was very good.
Trailrunner
I totally agree too. The article is spot on.
cookj5
telling it like it is Absolutely on the mark! The only ones who benefit from drugs being illegal are the narcotrafficantes who profit from the illegality, and the military/police/law enforcement complex who get a justification for more money and power. Oh, also the cement manufacturers who help build the prisons now filled to bursting with non-violent drug criminals. America, "we're #1!"
Mainecoons
This hits the nail right on the head: Washington isn’t going to rid the US of drugs any more than it rid the country of alcohol. Popular demand is far too great. The US crawls with crank labs, open-air crack markets, meth cookers, fields of marijuhweenie too large not to have been noticed by state authorities. California talks of legalizing grass in defiance of the Feds. All God’s chillun loves drugs—good ol’ boys, Ivy League students, their professors, high-school kids, middle-class suburbanies, congressman, musicians, and several Republicans. Mexico is going to change this? They must be smoking something good in DC. The only part of this article that is off base IMO is his rant against the military. This stupid policy was not originated by the military, it was originated by these politicians and bureaucrats in Washington, all of whom should be given the heave ho. Just another example of the colossal failure of government in America. So let's put them in charge of health care now, eh?
michigander
This stupid policy was not originated by the military, it was originated by these politicians Overall he is about 1/2 right. But the military does not really want anything to do with Mexico. They do not set policy, but they do enforce it. It always comes down to the shirts in DC. If we were smart enough to decriminalize and tax the stuff, crime would drop and both countries econemies would go up.
