Alamos, Sonora

Anyone been to Alamos lately? Been a few years since we were in Alamos, and we wonder what it's like now for a visit of 2 or 3 months.

I haven't been to Alamos in many years, but I do look at this site sometimes: http://www.alamosmexico.com/ It might give you some ideas of what to do there now. I like to occasionally check the real estate prices there. They seem to be a little overpriced for what you get, but they are all listed by real estate brokers, and Alamos is within a good days drive of the border. It is hot there in the summer.

Here is a link to a web board you could join:

We, too, have not been up to Alamos for several years but loved to go there in earlier years.

We were there in early June...unfortunate timing..just after the swine flu hubbub and at the hottest time of year; it was pretty dead.

Currently, two couples we know are there for the big musical festival and enjoying themselves immensely.

franco...there's a very good blog written by "Linda Lou" recording her life (with her husband) in Alamos. You might want to check it out at glasspondstudio.blogspot.com. Sounds like a charming town...one of the Historical Pueblas...but definitely too hot for me in the summer!
