The Cruz Roja also has handy sized cards - available at the Cruz Roja table at LCS - that have all of the information bilingually.

These have been available for many years and I keep one by each phone in the house. A donation to Cruz Roja is a good thing.

765-2308 is the PREFFERED direct to Chapala Cruz Roja (Red Cross) emergency number. The 065 number is answered in Guadalajara and then forwarded to Chapala.

Using the local number will probably result in faster service at Lakeside. There have been cases of the national emergency numbers being 'out of order'. The local number may also be more accustomed to dealing with limited Spanish language.

Just a note, he did the translations in the masculine, something a lady would say different for the change in gender such as:

Ladies / Females:

I fell and I am hurt------------------------------------Me cai y estoy herida

I am very sick------------------------------------------Estoy muy enferma

I am diabetic-------------------------------------------Soy diabetica

This link is an English to Spanish medical dictionary. It is easier for many people to read english than to

understand spoken English. It lowers the chance of miscommunication if you write it down both in english and

spanish.
