  1. The School for Special Children's very popular Auction Fashion Show is coming on December 6th. Check out the information about this great event. The link will take you to ticket information, table reservation directions, and lots of info about the event. The profits from this event go to support the education of over 100 very special children. Make sure to let your friends know about this, too.   2. Hope you will join us at El Barco on January 31st for a great Disco Party. James and some of his students from the Dance and Exercise Studio are coming, so I know this will be fun.
  3. The children and staff of the School for Special Children want to thank you all for your continual support. Although the January Home Tour is sold out, there are still tickets available for February, March, and April. Join us for the fun, beautiful, and idea packed tours. Plus we hope to see you at our booth at the Chili Cook-Off.
  4. Take two minutes to watch the children from the School for Special Children at their Posada. They were very serious when they did the traditional walk with Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus. Then they had a great time at their party. Here are the faces of the children you support through your donations, shopping at Casi Nuevo, attending the auction fashion show, going on the Behind the Walls Home Tours, eating at the Chili Cook-Off, and all the other ways you help these children have a supportive and quality education.   5. The School for Special Children is hoping to reach all who have supported the children this year. Dear Volunteers, Donors, and Supporters, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for all your hard work and support over this past year. We have had our biggest year in fundraising in 2017 and we’ve been able to buy things for the school such as IPads for the faculty, which has been so useful with all the wonderful apps that are used for teaching. We are also in the process of buying a new jungle gym for the backyard at the school which will give the children hours of

To get ready for it, we need your very special donations brought to the coffee hours on November 9th. It's a great time to donate an item, talk with people who have been gone for a few months, buy your tickets, and catch up on what's happening Lakeside.
  8. It's that time again. Due to the generosity of many home owners, The School for Special Children is able to again offer a season of great tours. Each month, ticket holders are treated to checking out the beauty and uniqueness of four homes. When you buy a ticket, you help pay for the lunch that everyone receives at The School for Special Children. The lunch program (food and staff) is covered by the Home Tours fundraiser. Plus you are helping the special children at Lakeside get a nutrious meal each school day. It's so important that the 100 children eat together daily. They do a lot of the chores related to lunch.   11. Thanks to all who made the November Home Tour so successful. We really do appreciate those who let everyone visit their homes and gardens. Such a great thing to do for the children in The School for Special Children in Jocotepec! And a shout out to the drivers and guides. Great job. The December Home Tour is sold out.   13. The first home tour is coming! November 17th will be here before you know it. Stop in and buy your tickets to ensure that you have a place on this first tour. Bring a friend, since it's more fun to share ideas with others. And remember, while you're having a great time seeing some of the really lovely Lakeside homes, you are also supporting over 100 special needs children who get a great education at The School for Special Children in Jocotepec.
  14. It's time to reserve your spot for the Home Tours. These are very popular and lots of fun. Tickets are now available at Diane Pearl on Ocampo and Charter Club Tours at Plaza Montana. Dates are: Nov. 17 Dec. 15 Special Christmas Tour ( this one starts at 4:30 and meets at pier at 4.:15) Jan. 26 Feb. 23 March 23 April 20 All regular tours begin by meeting at the pier at 10:15 and the ticket price of regular tours is 200 pesos. The Christmas Tour's cost is 400 pesos. A season's ticket can be purchased at a discount of 1200 pesos.
  15. Please spread the word. These are wonderful trips to see lovely homes and gardens in the Lake area. It's fun to tour with friends and everyone comes away with great ideas. But even more importantly, the funds raised are for the special education students that attend the terrific school in Jocotepec. Over 90 students, from San Antonio Tlayacapan to the south side of the lake, receive quality educational services at the school.   16. The School for Special Children is working hard to ensure that the more than 90 special needs children continue getting the services they need. To do this, we need to make sure that the thrift store in Riberas continues to get your support. Several donors have recommended that we change the name to indicate that the profits from this store go to the children with special needs at the school in Jocotopec.   17. Here's some great updates on the plans for the Fashion Show being held on Dec. 4th. Remember the proceeds are for a really good cause -- The School for Special Children. The show is being held at the Raquet Club. So, there's lots of parking and the ease of getting there during the holiday season.Roberto's catering staff is providing the wait staff and marvelous appetizers.You can reserve a table for you and all your friends.Plus some changes to the format!
