  1. Hello everyone, My name is Beth Macauley and I am a speech-language pathology professor (Ph.D., CCC-SLP) in the US. My expertise is adult speech, language, and swallowing disorders, but I have 30 years of clinical practice across the scope of practice with both children and adults. I have been coming to GDL for the past 4 years to provide services for a few weeks every summer, including at an equinoterapia program. I am looking at the possibility of moving but need info about whether SLP services are needed? And how people pay for SLP services? I can not find information online about speech therapy availability in Guadalajara (or Mexico in general!) and how people find and pay for speech therapy services in GDL, Chapala, and surrounding areas. Any help is appreciated. Thank you very much. Oh, I am "semi-fluent" in Spanish, working on being more fully fluent...
  2. I am new to this site - so forgive me if I am barking up the wrong tree... I am looking for a health care assistant for a family member who lives in Ajijic. I am hoping to find a person (probably a male would be best) who is: reliable, trustworthy, engaging, bilingual. It would be good if that person has some experiences with health care assistance/nursing. I need someone to live in a small apartment in the back of my family member's home in Ajijic. This person would be available to check on him a couple of times a day, help him take his meds accurately, and alert nursing or doctor if there is a worsening of his condition. Compensation to be negotiated. Is this a good place to post this help wanted ad, are there other places that I might post? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
  3. My Mother in Law is living with us. She is in the last stages of her life and is practically bedridden. Does anyone know what services are available here to assist family care givers? Thanks.
