An evening of intimate dialogue with local master artists will be the theme of Art Xik Xik. Focusing on local artists of renown, this series will be held in provocative settings throughout our village and surrounding areas. The evenings all start with a fine cocktail reception by some of our best culinary establishments. The featured artist will then present their work and hold a question and answer session afterward. This month ArtXikXik: Master Art Lecture Series will feature a collection of work from several of our best, local art masters and their protégés. Apt, Ortiz, Lopez Vega, Gonzalez, Zaragoza are just a few of the selected Maestros exhibiting new and traditional pieces, alongside the work of their preferred protégés. Our exhibit will allow a glimpse into the future, highlighting artists destined to become the next generation of Maestros. Most of the Maestros are Legacy Artists trained at the Neill James Children’s Art Program at the Lake Chapala Society in Ajijic, Mexico. The evening will consist of grouped exhibitions, lectures by the Masters and their Protégés, living art in progress, music, food, dance and magic. An air of youthfulness will abound. The number of available tickets for this event will be limited. Tickets are $50 pesos each. Tickets will sell fast. Tickets to this fine event are available at the Casa de Cultura Gift Shop in Ajijic Plaza and Diane Pearl Colecciones in Ajijic. 22. Dear Friends, I would love to invite you to a beautiful event, next Monday, March the 2nd, at 6:00 pm, this will be at the 3rd floor of Plaza bugambilias, above the movie theatre, this will be thus fusion of two very similar and still different ways to celebrate between Spain and Mexico, tickets will be sold at the Movie Theater or at Jardin de Ninette "Entre Palmas y Jaranas" Entre Palmas y Jaranas by Rodrigo Robles is a show where two festivals, the juerga , and Fandango Jarocho are shown on stage. The stage is divided into two , with each space stages his own party , alternating both traditions ; revealing the similarities and differences of both melodies. The show displays no obvious links between two ways of celebrating that somewhere is nourished from the same roots , and geography , people and character molded to know them for what they are now . The scene is becoming a meeting of dance and music , where bridges are crossed and the two traditions meet and fuse with the pretext of having a good time .
