  1. We have abandoned cars and a van on our street with flat tires, rotted interiors, weeds growing around them and they're blocking driveways. Is it possible to get them removed? Does anyone know who I could contact and what the procedure is to clean up our neighborhood of these vehicles?
  2. Has anyone had any experience buying new licence plates here in Ajijic and know roughly how much it should cost? Any help is much appreciated! Thank you
  3. I'm considering buying a new Nissan Leaf electric car and installing some extra solar panels so that I can drive for free. I'm wondering if anyone else in the Ajijic/Chapala area owns a Leaf and what their experiences have been. Please leave your salient comments below. Thanks.
  4. I am US citizen and I Want to buy a new Mexican plated car from a Mexican car dealership but I don't know if I can cross the border with the car. The car would be under my name and with insurance, I do not live in Mexico or have dual citizenship, I live in Texas. Can I get in trouble? or What can I do?
  5. I am in the market to purchase a used nationalized automobile. Looking for either a mini-van or station wagon/hatchback, good mechanical condition, clean (inside, outside and title). Have already contacted S&S & Moyo Car wash (Rafael) and they are looking as well. If you are aware of anyone out there that may be selling a used nationalized car, please let me know. Thank you in advance for your responses and/or suggestions...
  6. A friend of mine is coming to Lakeside to retrieve the possessions of a recently deceased family member. Anyone had any experience getting a car and trailer back out of Mexico. What are the bureaucratic obstacles.

  8. Apparently some birders don't have respect for other animal life forms when they are in a rush to get to their trailhead and view their winged favorites. One such birder was exceeding the speed limit through our Upper Riberas neighborhood this morning and ran over a street dog that was being cared for by a resident, (feeding and seeking a home for her.) He hit the dog, breaking her leg and rather than stopping, left the scene and raced to his trailhead. Shame on you!! In all fairness, the birder, after being confronted with his misdeed, did leave his phone number saying he would pay the vet bills. That is some comfort but what about the sweet dog (an Australian shepard) that has been asking for a home for a month now? All she wants is to be part of a famly, to be petted and loved. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body. Either you respect the animal world or you don't. Either you are a responsible driver or you are not.
