  1. <rant> I recently had an interesting experience at an undisclosed Mexican bank. You can read about it here. </rant>
  2. I have no residency so I asked a friend to open an account for me. Damn he took the longest time inside. Turns out that extra time was due to his transferring the money from his present account to a new account in my new bank. He was also impressed. I don't know what always attracted me to Santan, it wasn't the logo or the colour scheme. I think it was their ATMs. Now that brethren is the Mercedes of bank machines. I never bothered to Google the company, have no idea how they rank against the other options. The counter service is impeccable!
  3. Hi all, Does anyone have recent experience opening a Bancomer account on a tourist visa in Ajijic? I opened an account there two years ago (just needed a rental agreement and copy of a recent bill attached to the house). Closed the account when I left Mexico and now would like to re-open... or even start all over... on a tourist visa again... but even tho they still have "mis datos" in their countrywide system , I am not in Ajijic at the moment (am in Mexico, but further south) and they said their policy changed so, no can do. What about Ajijic? My Spanish is pretty good but I'm not sure if I could cover all the details in a phone call to our old branch at el parque in Ajijic... anyone have a recent experience? Thanks in advance if anyone knows!
  4. I want to send My SS check from to USA bank to my Mexican bank, How do I do it
  5. Moving May 1 st , posts seem to change as to what banks interact without fees from USA and Mexico. I need to open accounts with my retirement savings and social security deposits here in USA with a bank in Mexico that will allow transfers with minimum fees. Minimum deposits not a problem. Any suggestions, Bank of America? Wells Fargo ? Chase?
