  7. OK, thought I'd try it this way..... I'm an accomplished Blues, Rock, Contemporary, Country, guitarist (and bass player) with over 28 years of playing experience. I have my own pro equipment and transportation. I've been looking for an opportunity to play in a local Ajijic/Chapala band, but so far, no openings or responses to my previous posts (just lots of views - Thank You!). A little history: We moved here from the Bucerias / La Cruz area (near Puerto Vallarta) about 5 months ago. When we lived there, I was playing with 2 different bands about 2 nights a week. Since our move here, I've participated in various jam band sessions, but it's not exactly the same as being part of a band. I still enjoy going to various jam band night venues here, but from my observations, I believe that there are many other musicians, like myself, that are out there that might be willing to come together to start a new band here (I'm sure there's room for more). Anyway, just thought I'd see who might be seriously interested in doing this. If you are, please respond and let's see what we have in common.... BTW, I'm 67 years old, but that hasn't slowed me down yet! Thanks for reading this post....

  14. We are an established band here at lakeside, called the 'Train Wreck', and have a standing gig at the "La Bodega Restaurant and Bar" in Ajijic every Friday night. To date, we have had the fortune of having a great Drummer and Bass player for our performance nights. Althought we would like to retain them as permanent members in our band, they are members other bands that they've originally played in and are devoted to. As the season begins to ramp up, they will become less available to play with us on Friday nights. If there are any bass players and drummers out there that would like to consider this opportunity, please let me know so that we can establish an audition with you. We play a variety of Blues, Rock, Country and alternative songs. If you have an interest in doing this, please contact Gene at 766-1719. Thank you for your consideration and time...

  17. Dear Friends, I would love to invite you to a beautiful event, next Monday, March the 2nd, at 6:00 pm, this will be at the 3rd floor of Plaza bugambilias, above the movie theatre, this will be thus fusion of two very similar and still different ways to celebrate between Spain and Mexico, tickets will be sold at the Movie Theater or at Jardin de Ninette "Entre Palmas y Jaranas" Entre Palmas y Jaranas by Rodrigo Robles is a show where two festivals, the juerga , and Fandango Jarocho are shown on stage. The stage is divided into two , with each space stages his own party , alternating both traditions ; revealing the similarities and differences of both melodies. The show displays no obvious links between two ways of celebrating that somewhere is nourished from the same roots , and geography , people and character molded to know them for what they are now . The scene is becoming a meeting of dance and music , where bridges are crossed and the two traditions meet and fuse with the pretext of having a good time .
