  4. If anyone is considering using his services, you are welcome to contact me privately. After 6 months working with him as architect/builder, we have separated him from the project. For anyone who has built a home anywhere, you will know this was/is a big decision. Beyond my comments, there are other sources of information on his work. For those of you that live locally, Francisco Nando of Las Salvias Aluminum is aware of some architectural review board that covers architects, including those from Guadalajara. If you are aware of this source, you can check on your own or check with Francisco in how to access that information source.
  5. LOST SERVICE DOG - URGENT: Bella, our beloved dog is still missing (4 days now) but we have new hope if you help us. Bella has a "Tile" bluetooth GPS tag on her collar that transmits to cell phones within 150 feet running the "Tile App". If you are Lakeside, PLEASE HELP US. It will take less than 5 minutes and may SAVE Bella's life. TILE INSTRUCTIONS: 1) Download the Tile App (no cost), quickly create an account, and enable Tile Notifications: /www.thetileapp.com/es-mx/ 2) Message me (+1 415 746 0768) with your email address used for Tile account. 3) We'll "Share" her collar tile with your account and you will see it in your Tile app. 4) Keep the Tile app OPEN in your cell's background and make sure Bluetooth is "on." The main top Tile icon will light up green if you are within range of her. If you get a signal, call me at +1 415 225 3258 PLEASE, at ANY hour. "Tile" does not access your data; any website about it confirms it is a legitimate app. Alone, finding Bella is a needle in a haystack but with Lakeside community help it becomes a dragnet and we will find her!! If you don't want the reward we will give it to a shelter. Please also SHARE this info.😭 OUR BELLA: Bella got scared of the fireworks and jumped out of a crack through an under-construction elevator shaft and dropped 9ft from our house at 6pm Thursday night and does not have the skills to survive on the street. She is a 10-year old white Maltese, ten pounds/4+ kilos, last seen on Rio Lerma in Rancho del Oro. Small but fast so she could have covered a good distance by now. Friendly, approachable, loves kisses. Wearing a blue/yellow/red striped collar with white GPS Tile tag. Silver name tag reads Bella and gives both "415" and "650" phone numbers for Mel and Aura, and a California address. She is visiting and not likely to know the way back here. If you find her please call 376 766 2863 or +1 415 225 3258. If you have friends around Lakeside, please SHARE this post. 🙏 We're beyond devastated and just want or baby back. 💔
  6. We're having some cabinets made by a local carpenter and we want to select our our pulls and handles, Lakeside. Last January, I bought some hardware for other pieces of furniture and was satisfied. I can't remember the store name but it was a ferretería and I'd be able to find it. It's in Ajijic, mountain side of the Carratera, past the downtown core. I'm looking for other places with even more selection, if there are any, with brushed chrome or nickel hardware would be nice. Thanks
  7. (Since this is not about Real Estate Lakeside, hopefully this Post will be allowed to stay for a while) Whenever the cost of real estate comes up someone invariably suggests that it is surely less here than in San Miguel... "by a lot" is often added. I have spent some time there, as here and more here than there, and I just didn't seem to come up with the same general view. Maybe in the overall sense it is but surely not in many specific cases. Below is a Post to the Civil_SMA Board, where such Posts ARE allowed. It kinda makes my point... at least in this one specific case. I have seen many other similar Posts (as well as property while on the ground there) so this is not just a fluke. Other than information, I have no ulterior purpose for Posting this: Hi FOR SALE BY OWNER True Tranquility Water Views, Mountain Views and Animals Grazing, Country Living less than 5 minutes from Comer, Contemporary Style, 2 Floors one can be used for B&B or friends if needed. 4 fireplaces, 2 big patios one down and one up, 2 kitchens, 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, 2 living rooms, 2, laundry areas, 1dining room and 1 eating area, organic garden, Kohler toilets and bidet, tons of light, bright tranquil home, all that for only $270,000 USD
  8. If you or someone you know has a local Lake Chapala Area social media site, would you be so kind to post their links here? Common interests groups or those who use the sites like Facebook groups or YouTube channels. It’s amazing how the internet has changed since 2004 when we moved to Mexico 🇲🇽 Thanks!!!
  9. Hello there - We are a retired couple now living in Ajijic looking for a change of home. We seek a minimum of two bedrooms and studio or better a 3/2 with secure parking for two vehicles. We have an adorable and well-behaved Labrador .... our budget ranges up to $1,600 for a minimum of one year. We are long-termers so we are interested in a multi-year rental opportunity. We prefer a gated community on the mountain with a lake view. Thank you for referring this to an interested landlord.

  13. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Ehécatl An original puppet theatre production based on an Aztec legend. Ajijic, Jalisco – April, 2017 – Ehécatl An original puppet theatre production based on an Aztec legend comes to Ajijic, Mexico in April, 2017. The presentation is a fundraiser for Butterflies en Mexico (BEM), A.C. BEM is a local, not-for-profit charity that empowers youth to make healthy life choices. www.gomariposa.org. BEM does this in 3 ways through its programs: anti-violence education in the Chapala public schools, community development in our neighborhoods and through vocational training projects that assist local youth in obtaining cost of living wages and employment. On April 22nd, 2017 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. our lovely residential chapel will be transformed into a formal puppet theatre. Our afternoon starts at 5 p.m. with valet parking, wine bar and catered appetizers. At 6 p.m. our exclusive group of guests will take their seats to experience the world premiere presentation of Ehécatl. In the Aztec legend of the god of wind, Ehécatl appears on the breath of all living beings and in the breezes that bring the rain clouds for the crops. His breath initiates the movement of the sun, announces and moves the rain and brings life to that which is still. Based on an Aztec legend, using original, pre-hispanic style puppets, Ehécatl the god of wind, falls in love with a human named Mayáhuel. Mayáhuel was human at a time when people still could not love one another. Ehécatl gave all humanity the ability to love so that Mayáhuel could respond to the passion of the gods and reciprocate his love. Book by Izel Paz Villegas, Fabiola Paz Villegas and Fco. Nava. © 2017. Direction by Abril Iñiguez. This evening of magic and culture should not be missed! 14. We're planning to move to the Lakeside area and I have a question about dogs. We love dogs! (have our own). But not the sound of barking dogs (constant). Are there any areas, developments, where this is not a factor? Where you can sit out on your patio and enjoy the peaceful view, without a chorus of dogs?
