  1. Thx for explanation. Have never used Wise and didn't understand how it works.
  2. Hey asswipe, comparing anyone to a Nazi war criminal is pure BS. Get lost.
  3. Dr. Mercola quoted by @southernguy is a quack. https://www.mcgill.ca/oss/article/covid-19-health-pseudoscience/upside-down-doctor Dr. Joe Mercola, an osteopathic physician who has made an impressive fortune selling supplements through his online store, has a new book out about the COVID-19 pandemic. This book, as well as Mercola’s decades of peddling health misinformation on the Internet, exemplifies the dangerous blind spot of the wellness movement. Health gurus are not in the business of public health; they rise to fame by framing health as a personal choice and by selling immune boosters that have earned, they wrongfully claim, a scientific seal of approval. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/07/24/technology/joseph-mercola-coronavirus-misinformation-online.html Dr. Mercola, 67, an osteopathic physician in Cape Coral, Fla., has long been a subject of criticism and government regulatory actions for his promotion of unproven or unapproved treatments. But most recently, he has become the chief spreader of coronavirus misinformation online, according to researchers. An internet-savvy entrepreneur who employs dozens, Dr. Mercola has published over 600 articles on Facebook that cast doubt on Covid-19 vaccines since the pandemic began, reaching a far larger audience than other vaccine skeptics, an analysis by The New York Times found. His claims have been widely echoed on Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. Some high-profile media figures have promoted skepticism of the vaccines, notably Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingraham of Fox News, though other Fox personalities have urged viewers to get the shots. Now, Dr. Mercola and others in the “Disinformation Dozen” are in the spotlight as vaccinations in the United States slow, just as the highly infectious Delta variant has fueled a resurgence in coronavirus cases. More than 97 percent of people hospitalized for Covid-19 are unvaccinated, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Over the last decade, Dr. Mercola has built a vast operation to push natural health cures, disseminate anti-vaccination content and profit from all of it, said researchers who have studied his network. In 2017, he filed an affidavit claiming his net worth was “in excess of $100 million.”
  4. Wasn't your total cost 2500 USD plus the 23.94 fee? 53,950.87 pesos/2523.94 = exchange rate of 21.37565 The Visa exchange rate (used at most ATM's) was 21.5462 on 11/26.
  5. Last I knew, he's open Wed thru Sun, but he does adjust his days/hours from time to time. This is the cell number I have used in past on WhatsApp, 33 1114 0726 According to WhatsApp he was 'active' about half an hour ago.
  6. That is why you go to the SOURCE. The CDC website in this case. I have seen plenty of US "news" networks saying 24 hours too. Sloppy reporting. Reporters used to be trained to check the source for themselves, not just repeat what they heard in passing.
  7. ONE DAY. NOT 24 hours. From CDC website, The 1-day period is 1 day before the flight’s departure. The Order uses a 1-day time frame instead of 24 hours to provide more flexibility to the air passenger and aircraft operator. By using a 1-day window, test acceptability does not depend on the time of the flight or the time of day that the test sample was taken. For example, if your flight is at 1pm on a Friday, you could board with a negative test that was taken any time on the prior Thursday.
  8. I can't understand how anyone can live without a bank account somewhere??? Is he sleeping on a lumpy mattress stuffed with pesos??

  10. You have neither a US or MXN bank account?
  11. It's solely the airline's responsibility to confirm your test results before issuing you a boarding pass for your flight to US. We've flown 8 times to US since the test was required; every single time we were asked for the test results.
  12. Many of us keep 2 ISP services (I keep 3 for now).
  13. Can't speak for Walmart, but for entry into US the test results can be in Spanish, maybe other languages as well. We've entered with Spanish language test results 7 or 8 times on 3 different airlines, never an issue. All were US carriers, btw.
  14. @Oatsie Here is link to online appointment for test at Walmart. When I entered my codigo postal (zip code) the store popped up and when I went to tab for Sunday it showed appts. available as early as 10am. Edit: I checked this coming Sunday, 12/12 and 10am is earliest available for this particular day. As @jrodstated, they do start taking appts. as early as 9:10am--which I confirmed by looking at availability for Sunday 12/19. https://intl-cvx-scheduler.wal-mart.com.mx/
  15. fyi, Tango has opened at the new location.
  16. From FB page of Guadalajara Reporter about an hour ago, BOOSTER DOSES FOR OVER 60s BEGIN; A SINGLE ASTRA ZENECA JAB FOR EVERYONE Tuesday, December 7, Deputy Heath Minister Hugo López-Gatell announced the start of a program of booster vaccine doses against Covid-19 for Mexico’s over-60s population. Setting the program in motion, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador received his booster jab Tuesday at the start of a visit to Jalisco. A single dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine will be available to all seniors, regardless of the vaccines they were previously administered. Studies and field experience in Europe show that combining Astra Zeneca with other vaccines is safe and offers good protection against the coronavirus, several experts commented Tuesday. The booster program will start in six states: Jalisco, Mexico City, Oaxaca, Chiapas, Sinaloa and Yucatan. Anyone who received their full vaccination program more than six months ago is eligible for a booster shot, López-Gatell said. Jalisco Health Secretary Fernando Petersen said Tuesday that the booster program will start immediately in four municipalities: Tala, Ciudad Guzman, Lagos de Moreno and Ameca. No registration will be required for a booster dose in municipalities outside the metropolitan area, he said. Seniors should just turn up at vaccine locations with an official identification and a certification document showing the date of the last application of the vaccine. Petersen said that as of this week, Guadalajara metro-area residents will be able to go online at vacunacion.jalisco.gob.mx to book appointments for booster shots, that will be applied at the Benito Juarez Auditorium in Zapopan and the Macromodulo in Tlajomulco. Chapala area residents should be aware that the announcement of the start of booster shots for seniors in the municipality could come at any moment.

  18. There's a newly opened Sterling casa de cambio on Colon in Ajijic. South of the plaza. Open 10-5 weekdays.
  19. Noticed new gravel on southside of property and now a big hole in wall on side street (Galeana). Thinking this is onsite parking.
  20. All reports that I've read say, 60 and older. La tercera edad is often what MEX uses for 'elderly.'
  21. Lived and worked in DC-Metro until I retired in 2003. Couldn't wait to get far away from the commutes, congestion--our 4 post-retirement homes have been in small US towns or a MX village. But the attraction of GDL's city vibe is appealing for extended visits and/or part-time living. As I said before, best of both worlds.
  22. Starting this weekend, they will open at 12 noon on Saturdays and Sundays.
  23. Bolillo. I haven't noticed a huge price increase. Maybe 1 peso over the past year??? But to be honest, unless only buying and paying for one, I might not have noticed. The baguettes I buy at my local deli have not increased, nor has the price of their bolillo sandwiches. I found this post by Computer Guy (may he RIP) saying bolillos were 6 pesos more than 3 years ago. ComputerGuy Posted September 17, 2018 Heck, even a bolillo costs 6 pesos these days.
  24. The 22% increase in minimum wage has little to do with MEX's 7% inflation rate. AMLO has consistently raised the minimum wage far beyond the annual rate of inflation since taking office.
  25. For sure, SAT Hospital. Last I saw sign, they charge 900p. Riberas MC may also be open, but not certain.
