BisbeeGal posted this on TOB this morning. https://edition.cnn.com/2024/02/25/climate/mexico-city-water-crisis-climate-intl/index.html

Everybody has to do their part to conserve water. Everybody. Starting NOW.

Water conservation works well when combined with fines and step rates. Austin, Texas began water conservation practices in the late 1990s.  The results have been stunning, avg consumption per user in 2000 was 175 gallons/day.  That dropped to 138 gallons/day in 2015 and in 2019 it dropped further to 120 gallons/day.

It is math + common sense.

  2. I think it is factual to state that some walmarts have some  employees who speak only spanish, some walmarts have some  employees that speak only english and some walmarts have employees who are bi-lingual but few walmarts in the USA are 100% mono lingual..

  3. Rvgringo told me that the humidity in the valley was causing him issues with his heart so the move to the Tucson area.  He was an interesting guy with a life full of accomplishments but yet humble and down to earth.  DEP

  4. Used to be you could pay at the tienda to the right of the recaudadora office entrance (not the street entrance) to make the appt for you.  They will tell you what appt times are available then they complete the appt for you.  Write down the username and password that they assign you for future reference.  I transferred three vehicles in 2023 and each time I was able to get a same day appt usually within a couple of hours.  I think the cost was 100 or 200 pesos for the appt.  Or you can do it the other way, online.  I like simple.

If the PO has outstanding traffic tickets, you pay.

  5. @Mainecoons,

"You can count on all those septic tanks in Riberas are polluting the ground water and eventually the lake.  There is no way the land can assimilate that density of septic tanks and drain fields.  The usual standards for such disposal call for an acre or more and even that is pushing it."

Yep. Pretty much nailed it.  Common sense for those who can do the math.
