  7. Most of the papelerias carry cards, blank and otherwise. Also shops like Diane Pearl, La Bella Vita and others similar. Art galleries also frequently have copies of their artwork as blank cards. When LCS has art show or art markets, the Children's Art Program cards are also for sale, all blank, at 35 pesos each. There are hundreds of designs to chose from. A percentage goes to the child artist, another the buy supplies for the kids art program and unfortunately also a percentage for IVA to the government

    CASA LINDA LCS

A few weeks ago when LCS had the two day art fair - there was a soft soft opening. While getting used to the kitchen, etc Casa Linda was open for breakfast for whoever - artists, volunteers, etc The patio was fairly crowded and the entrees that I saw looked good. Casa Linda also offered to make lunch for just the few LCS volunteers who were there working and we had a selection of two items which we had to order several days ahead of time to be sure everything necessary was there as they were still setting up. Choice of hamburger on bun or chicken filet sandwich on sourdough.... both included lettuce, tomato. etc. Sides were choice of fries or salad. I worked both days so tried each and they were excellent... Large portions... Good burger and chicken filet freshly grilled...''Sourdough was wheat with nuts and something else... I forget. I'm going to the states tomorrow for 4 days but will get a menu when I return.....for those who know me - Queen + Adam Lambert are in Dallas on a U.S. tour. Rock on!

  16. Lee, if you haven't set up a membership account you can do so on line using your membership numbers. If problems with the system, the Service Desk can help you. You will have to set up a password to initially use the system and you and your husband will each need a different email address which is generally not a problem for members - however several hundred members do share an email address with their partner which is a problem with the new system. In general the system is like buying on Amazon, using a cart for your purchases. If signing up for classes it will tell you how may openings remain and also the prices for both members and nonmembers for various activities. The office is well trained in the system and can help those who need help - it's gone fairly well. Thanks Sun Fan I was going to answer and you beat me to it.

  18. The continuing saga ....... there has been validad at the corner since last week. However, now you cannot park on either side of the street for the two block section of Pedro Moreno. Friend on moto came to visit this afternoon had to move his bike although he was parked on the east side of the street behind one of the big trees in the street. Had to drive north to Ocampo and then around to Colon, etc. and had to park on Independencia. Another neighbor from the malecon passing by who owns a restaurant down there is not allowed to have customers park on the street itself either - only parking in the marked off spaces in the small lot. Evidently the decison comes from Chapala.... Time for a visit by the neighbors to Chapala....
  19. Yes, adolpsj you are correct. While it will alleviate traffic leaving the malecon it won't do much for those going to the lakefront... Colon is a narrow busy street at the best of times and this certainly will send more trucks that way.. Aquiles Serdan/Pedro Moreno has been a two way street since I've been here and the only other is the east side of the village. I can't think of another that changes direction after two blocks. Oh well, more difficult to get to my house and those between Independencia and the lakefront. Some things never change and who know if this will last long. I do recall quite a few years ago when the village folks must have worked overnight. Went to bed and the streets were one way and in the morning they were still one way but in the other direction. Traffic for days was crazy.....
  20. As of an hour or so ago, you could still turn south toward lake on Aquiles Serdan/ Pedro Moreno from the carretera. However, as of this morning, the last two blocks (Pedro Moreno) from Ocampo to the Malecon are NOW ONE WAY ONLY GOING NORTH - TO THE CARRETERA. If your turn off the carretera you must turn left on Ocampo to Colon and then to the Independencia or the malecon to go west. I'm sure there must be a good reason for this !!!?????******
  21. I use the passport card when traveling in the US as a legal ID rather than my booklet. That way i still have a passport. If lost or stolen i can still exit the US and travel elsewhere. I attend large concerts and the card is easier to carry. I did obtain my most recent passport and card from the consulate in Guadalajara.
  22. And there are now two Pancho's stores as well as Gourmet Garage. Her data is outdated!
