  1. Wow, indeed. Can't imagine what that would've cost in the US. This begs the question that if you have a pretty decent nest egg when moving to Lakeside is buying health insurance really neccessary? Hard question to answer as so many variables exist.
  2. We used to use Lloyds Actinver in Ajijic or Chapala for this, but alas, this was quite a while ago. What is the preferred way to make the exchange now?
  3. It's regrettable that there are no Animal Control officers to contact.
  4. Sorry, Wide Sky, you posted right before me. I wasn't trying to "one up" you.
  5. Can't the OP complain to the fracc about this? Isn't the Racquet Club is a fracc with specific rules prohibiting this sort of nonsense? Hopefully someone is going to clean up the massive amount of dog crap after these creatures (the gardener, someone said). Lucky him/her. I myself would bitch a proverbial blue streak to the fracc about this as this seriously compromises their quality of life.
  6. 6 dogs? My God, why would anyone need 6 dogs? I can't imagine feeding, walking and cleaning up after that many canines. And an educated professional as well. I've been where you are more than I care to remember. Isn't the Raquet Club a fracc with specific rules that prohibit this sort of nonsense?
  7. Can we stick to the topic of this thread, please? About what's involved in flying to Guad and visiting the Lake Chapala area?
  8. Oh no, no danger there. I've been wearing a mask since early March, mostly staying home, avoiding crowded places, sanitizing everything we touch every day since early March. I take this virus very seriously. It's good to know the Lakeside area/Guad etc. do as well.
  9. Has anyone flown recently NOB to Lakeside? If so, can you describe the experience? Were masks required at all times in the airports? ( I'm sure they were on the flights). I haven't flown since Feb. of this year, just before the pandemic started. Just wondering what the experience is like now by those with recent first-hand experience. And once you arrive at Lakeside what major changes do you encounter?
  10. Is there someone to see locally to apply or can this be done online? Obviously, there must be a US address to use as a registration address and to ship the plates to. And then someone has to FedEx the plates to your Lakeside address? Do I have all this correct? Or am I making it needlessly difficult?
  11. I need these three services and am sick and tired of trying to get decent/affordable healthcare in the US. Just wondering about the ease of access and cost of these types of services from licensed providers locally. Also may need to see an orthopedic surgeon a few times a year for cortisone injections of the shoulder, though seeing the above practitioners regulalry would likely reduce (possible eliminate) the need for these injections. Just wondering about the ease of access and cost to see an orthopedic surgeon (if neccessary).
  12. Are MX consulates in the US open for visa purposes and if so, may we cross the border with residente temporal visas for residence purposes?
  13. Do you remember the price you paid for that quantity?
  14. Has anyone bought either of these locally?
  15. Is it possible for either a res. temporal or permanente visa holder to buy a MX plated car? Is it practical to do so?
  16. Yes, Harry, but then wasn't the peso around 9 or so to the USD? Now it's around 23 (mas o menos). Even with that, is the replacement cost still really not feasible?
  17. This came through as a Microsoft update a few days ago. Has anyone installed and now using this browser on Windows 7? Just wondering how well it works it as I have (and have had) a number of ongoing issues with Google Chrome.
  18. You mention homebrewers. Are there homebrew supplies (brewing equipment, malt extracts, hops, etc.) for sale at Lakeside? You're right-it's unfortunate that this place doesn't turn out better quality brews. That would solve the beer problem for a lot of people as their prices are pretty good. For me Corona, Sol, Bohemia just don't cut it. I need a beer that's all malt, not the adjunct varieties.
  19. Really sorry to hear this. Had hoped this might be a remedy for the generally crappy beer situation SOB.
  20. Are these expensive (like the ones NOB IMO) or pretty reasonably priced for their beer and food?
  21. The residente temporal documents and stamped passport started at the consulate NOB to be specific. Can you drive across the border with these "intent to reside"- type documents right now?
  22. Someone that can service your guitars, amps, effects, etc?
