  1. What's the source of this photo? I'm looking at a house near there. Thanks. LQ
  2. Power back in [a very localized area of] west San Antonio. Sixteen or so hours total. LQ
  3. No power / low power in west San Antonio. About two hours. LQ
  4. I can. For me, there have probably never been more controls. [video screen capture] Are you sure you're using using Google Photos (Web) in Google Chrome? I'm using Google Chrome Stable (latest). Can't expect any old browser to support very specific imaging technology. It's also true that, phone-wise, Pixel phones will always grant the most control over photos taken with Pixel phones, because they contain a chip dedicated to imagery. Not Android, Pixel. Pure Android. LQ
  5. One of these has worked well for me, for six years or so (< $25): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005TE2M5S/ https://www.amazon.com.mx/Ideal-Security-Inc-SK110W-seguridad-puerta/dp/B005TE2M5S/ LQ
  6. I didn't request a Constancia (generally, a controlled document proving your tax situation) when I got an RFC number in Ocotlán, they just gave it to me. If you think about it, why wouldn't they? The idea is to eventually require individuals and legal entities to formally identify themselves for tax purposes when making certain transactions. There's also an RFC web app (and a phone app, but it's just the web app) with an elaborate setup routine including taking a video of yourself saying a random Spanish sentence. I haven't done it yet, but one imagines eventually showing a QR code as tax identification for some things. The SAT Module in Ocotlán is unchanged as of 3-4 weeks ago. Under 60 requires an appointment. 60+ supposedly can walk-in, but I don't know if that's documented policy. LQ
  7. No, but I block ads and third-party cookies like a big dog. If there's some flaky thing with needing a Facebook session, I'm immune. I am however seeing some layout breakage, here: That's an unordered list that's lost its styling. And of course there's the broken image upload thing. LQ https://ublockorigin.com/
  8. The incognito window I used doesn't know any cookies either. Could be someone's working on it right now. LQ
  9. The prior thread ("Spam") is locked -- though mods can still post -- yet it appears that spambot protection measures aren't correctly implemented. The account creation routine in fact now seems a bit broken. Creation of the following test user failed: Not only was I not challenged to solve a CAPTCHA, but the indicated "Security Check" appears unsolvable. Its question toggles between "What is the name of our [ state | lake ]?," but no response, however capitalized, seems able to pass. I wasn't able to create the test account. LQ
  10. We've heretofore schlepped our own garrafones, but los chicos de ePura deliver in our San Antonio neighborhood all the time, so I asked for their info yesterday. We've yet to call them (since we only have four garrafones in circulation), but I'll report on results when we do. Maybe the handwritten number below is better. (deleted) [Antonio - 333 7007 2667] LQ
  11. "It" (not really "they") will inject spam until it's fixed at the application level -- which I suspect only an admin can do. All else is cosmetic "Cleanup on Aisle 5" drudgery. LQ
  12. Thanks. I can read it, and as a Googler am more than familiar with Google Translate. It doesn't say how many units were planned for La Pueblita. I'm also curious to know how many La Pueblita units were completed and occupied. Their materials are sales-oriented and out-dated, and don't get around to specifics. Is there a reason to they intended many fewer than 194 units? LQ
  13. How many units were projected for La Pueblita? LQ
  14. It's highly unlikely that a specific attacker targeted this particular site, maybe a one in a million chance. By far, the common case is that an exploit is discovered for a certain web application, and it's leveraged against all vulnerable sites of that type. BTW, I've seen none of this spam. OTOH I only receive notifications about threads I've posted to, plus a daily digest email. That's quite enough. If you ask for more comprehensive email notifications, consider cutting those back. LQ
  15. It's here: https://www.mitotalplay.com.mx/ Log in, choose Ver estado de cuenta, choose Formas de pago, choose a payment method, pay. IMO, Paypal is the painless choice. I'm notified by email when there's a new bill. LQ
  16. Deleting spam is not a solution. https://invisioncommunity.com/forums/topic/473650-the-spammers-are-coming-fast-and-furious/ LQ
  17. Umm, all spam is automated. Unregistered users can post, or can self-register and post immediately? A CAPTCHA should fix that. In any case, other users of the same (somewhat dated) forum software will be seeing the same spam, so see what they're doing about it. LQ
  18. We used our TotalPlay bill (in January) as proof of address on a new car registration and insurance, etc. We'll try to parlay those addressed documents (plus RFC, CURP) to open a bank account in a bit, but there's no particular rush on it. Be very careful that the name on your TotalPlay invoice matches your passport / residency documents exactly. I had to hack my TotalPlay PDFs because their online sign-up form had required a completed apellido materno field, which I had fudged a year earlier. TotalPlay couldn't change it, for apparently no good reason. LQ
  19. I need a metalworking shop that can repair a bend in some tubular steel. It's a support for a steel pergola that apparently couldn't make it here without a character-building experience, so to speak. You can see what I mean from the photos below. (The notch receives a cross-piece.) Most aceros I've found (for example, Poli Acero) are distributors or serve contractors, and won't bother with a small repair. I could force it to work, but first I want to see if there's not a shop that has special tools and can do a better job. Any suggestions? LQ
  20. Totally an Amazon purchase. Look for a highly-rated (4.5 ⭐) aftermarket brand with a lot of reviews, preferably thousands. Switch to the comments view, and sort the reviews from newest to oldest -- just to make sure they don't have any recent complaints. This aftermarket is very mature. You should have no problem finding something good. LQ ps. I still have an HP MTFHPI1315 Laser that I'd like to off-load. This is a printer-scanner-copier device that I paid about $600 USD for new in January 2022 and use very lightly. I'd take half what I paid. Why don't I want it? Because I meant to buy the color version, and screwed up. https://www.amazon.com.mx/gp/product/B07RRFFMNN/
  21. You know, we went to Ixtlahuacán ("A Clean Town") de los Membrillos a couple months ago, just to poke around, and spaced. Guess we're not in a rush. Read the thread, though. I'm sure the folks at DIF in Ixtla or even at the one on Camino Real in La Floresta can point you in the right direction. https://goo.gl/maps/PoXGJ14N68rq6McM8 LQ
  22. My current coverage is gold-plated and my meds are all generic. The racket runs deeper than generic vs. brand name, I'm afraid. LQ
