  1. Dennis, Apparently the Pharmacy Guadalajara's passport machine doesn't produce a passport photo that meets requirements. They told me I would have to get one at a photography studio. Something about the print quality apparently.
  2. I have an appt. at Mexico consulate in Laredo TX on 2/15 to apply for temporary resident permit. They require a passport photo, which I have, but it needs to be trimmed. Alternative is to get another photo the right size - 3.5cm x 4.5cm - Mexican passport size photo. Is there a place in San Antonio Tlayacapan to get a passport photo? Thanks for your help.
  3. I see a ray of light here. Many thanks. I’ll let you know what happens. What exactly is the import sticker? Is that the same as the temporary import permit?
  4. I believe Mexican insurance is required. Anyway I do have Mexican insurance with el Aguilar, as well as American with Geico. The Mex. ins. co. sent an adjuster (who speaks no English) and I'm thinking I maybe should call him to see what my status is at this point. My calls are not answered at Osuna, the body shop; and my calls to El Aguilar are a total loss as I can't seem to get anyone who speaks some English and my Spanish is totally inadequate for this type situation. I do have a bilingual friend and will have him call to get info from these people. I'm just wanting to find out if the estimate is completed and has been sent to the company. Thanks for your help. Susan
  5. Thanks to all who gave me some information on this. Very helpful!
  6. … And the insurance company considers it a total. Do you have to take it back to the States? Thanks, susan
  7. I've completed all the preliminary paperwork online for both the FMM and TIP and have documentation. Will I have to go inside (leaving my car) to get my passport stamped, complete the process, etc? I'm traveling with a small dog and worry about leaving him in the car. Can anyone give me guidance? Many thanks, Susan
  8. Sometime in the next several weeks I'll be making the drive from Tucson, AZ, to Ajijic area on Mexico 15S. My car will be packed and I have a small dog. I expect two overnights. Can anyone recommend pet-friendly hotels/motels with secure parking?
