  1. Next time you see a military group ask them for some earplugs. Some are required to have them as part of their uniform and don't care for them. Thisee guys you might have to speak louder to No matter what the advertised db rating advertised the foam ones work best. You have to cram the plastic ones against your eardrum to be as effective as the foam onees. Construction supply stores usually have ear plugs with a cord connecting them so they can be slung around the neck always available so you can protected your nervous thoughts
  2. Hardware stores I'd figure. Rip saws, jackhammers, and some impact concrete drills can make a guy go deaf.
  3. Vinegar is supposed to help get the stench off if you get sprayed.
  4. Currently storm related winds are forecasted to arrive Sunday night. https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/graphics_ep2.shtml?start#contents
  5. I'm thinking if you include a picture of enjoying a cool drink at the side of the lake with festivities they might say you need to report monthly Although it would be a funny response. Maybe include a bar bill for them saying the bar wants proof they are Swiss bothering their customer. Possibly if there's a Swiss consulate or embassy they'd have a shorter and cheaper route where they handle the leg between Mexico and Switzerland.
  6. Was just going to post a warning so people could prepare. Looks like Monday evening. All depends on how the mountains take water and wind out of the storm but we never know. https://www.cyclostorm.com/
  7. Any barber shops still have a guy shining shoes? Airport is kind of far away to ask a shiner there. Possibly buying an extra can off one of those guys would work.

  9. How's T-Mobile data around North lakeside?
  10. In the US and probably the same in Mexico when the expansion of adding other service providers started those new companies were leasing line usage and bandwidth from the main companies lines. In the US that was AT&T till others could get city permissions to install their own lines when financially possible. So possibly when a company in your local is adding customers it's tying into a line leasers lines requiring some down time somewhere on the lines. Then there are the oops had to pull the plug to figure out which line is which in the jumble or a backhoe operator sneezed when digging Not to rain on satellite but clouds interfere with service.
  11. Yep the less air space the less moisture exposed tto the gas. Even oil absorbs moisture from only short trips not having an hour or more long trip in there once in awhile to cook it off. Small planes it's advised to top the tanks off when parking since the wings in the sun and metal going cooler from air blowing by all around the tanks does the get condensation in the gas. Every time before flying small planes you drain a little gas from the tank to get the water off the bottom. Like magic the water is there at the bottom of the fuel test cup. The military has a gas called Mogas I was told is gas with water in it and the gas has a milky white look. If it does have water in it it figures they add something like a lot of alcohol so the water stays suspended in the gas. Rambling again :)
  12. Fiber optic became available lakeside last year didn't it? The guy doing internet video mentioned getting fiber optic internet. ILOX was the company. By the way. 100Mbps is cable speeds so I figure they only run one router of the fiberoptic line that throttles back speeds. http://www.ilox.mx/zona-de-cobertura?lang=en
  13. If you use gas with ethanol it happens and happens even more without an air tight seal on the tank and even more if you park the vehicle where temperature rise and fall especially when parked where sun can heat the tank then cooling at night sucks in moist air. The alcohol gets the gas to absorb water way faster than regular gas would. Solutions are a vehicle cover or park out of wind and changing temperatures. There's also don't let gas sit for extended periods. It can go bad.
  14. He's going to be flying through heaven if he keeps playing with gas like that. Plastic cuts the same as glass if broken. Stick to paper fireworks.
  15. Way back Sony video cameras at least the Digital 8 video cameras had night vision nicknamed Reggie Vision I think it was called. I bought one a model something like DSC320 maybe. Loaned it to my dad to use making video of his WW2 flying friends stories and haven't used it since. The night vision is black and white and does pretty good in the dark. Worked with low light and can film using an IR filter on a light. If you ever get a camera like that be careful not to turn on the night vision in lighted conditions since it might burn out things. Back a couple of years I saw companies advertising their cameras can film in color in very low light. The method of amplifying what is received on the light sensor plate is getting better and better. Seems to be all about filtering out the trash electronics noise to get clearer pictures.
  16. There's a fireworks distributor on the east side of Guadalajara. Couldn't find it in a quick web search just now. Villages some more than others go for the big celebrations. I don't think it's only the church jumping in the game. Try asking one of the taxi service guys. Would think they get asked to drop by a good fireworks stand when foreigners take rides. Found one. Try asking. http://www.smpirotecnia.com.mx/venta-y-contacto.htm
  17. Translation is he feels the government agency running Medicare is playing favoritism and feeding the US medical industry with as far as Medicare is said to be a healthcare system it sure has a game of which side of the border you are on going on. So hee feels why not get the care however possible with Medicare still paying. It would seem if a person has a verified preexisting condition using Medicare and while living in a foreign country the treatments or medications to mask the symptom is a less cost it would be appealing to allow Medicare use in a foreign land to save money. But, we are back to the favoritism feeding the US medical field. Kind of like lobbyist have something to do with it Not that some government agencies are like coal stokers on the Titanic. Casey Jones might be more fitting. The coal stokers would be congress.
  18. Could try changing your cookies handling to weaker just for one visit to only this site when entering your password then change cookie handling back to regular after logging in then leaving. Microsoft Edge under Settings has a Passwords section. You can change how interactions with sites with passwords go and see what passwords your browser has saved.
  19. Here's a more defined data presentation. Looks like some damage coming and public services will need to be beefed up. Maybe start shifting national guard and resources now. Converting KTS to MPH that's 120 mph winds with 150 mph gusts.
  20. If you went a full 20 you qualify for Tricare. Possibly it was different when you got out or weren't processed out correctly like I wasn't processed out correctly. If you did do the full time qualifying for retirement you qualify for Tricare policies. If you didn't retire out it's VA health care and both Tricare and VA are lousy these days. Good luck. They have a website. FEDVIP I belieeve is where you can check out the policies you might be able to get as prior military or federale. Lots of retired military medical benefits get dropped and conveniently like vultures insurance companies wait for persons wanting real health care Check FEDVIP if you did a military retirement.
  21. Neither is medicare in Mexico. Insurance is the only option it seems. Being able to get Mexico's offered insurance is not available unless meeting some residency requirements and I don't think getting Mexico's insurance is a short subject like buying US insurance is. Being a foreigner the Mexcio offered insurance will be a reduced coverage. If you have one of the military insurance plans like Tricare For Life they offer some other company insurances that cover overseas. The US federal retirees get likewise deals.
  22. With the way some generations are all TV or computer screen oriented plus the prepper attitude of survive the apocalypse I'm amazed some buildings haven't been built to have many floors below ground level. On a hillside it's doable with no sewage pumping involved. Would make a lot of skin cancer sufferers happy and keep the persons concerned about cluttered skylines happy too. Just rambling.
