  1. I miss Guadalupe, who was the main person behind the Rx counter there a few years back. She was great to deal with in all ways.
  2. That post alone, is a good weight loss plan!
  3. I recall it being 12 to 24 hours Pete. As someone on the board likes to say, of course.....YMMV! πŸ˜‰
  4. In Thailand, you can swallow a pill camera that works its way through you, then you review the recording with the Dr. afterwards. Pretty neat (as these things go.....) apart from recovering the camera, that is.....
  5. https://www.miamiherald.com/living/liv-columns-blogs/dave-barry/article1928847.html
  6. Status level changes with your # of postings, no credit for just reading others......or "time served"! πŸ˜‰
  7. What happened to the "US closed" image? THAT was funny.....and right on target, though it contradicts the title of this thread, that's for sure!
  8. Canada's main failing in Covid has not been due its health care system, it is due to the chronic systemic issues in many senior care residences, especially in Ontario and Quebec, that have caused an overwhelming majority of the cases and deaths, unfortunately. It has been a real disaster. Without that, the difference between Canada and the US ratios would be much, much larger. And here is another article featuring a senior past White House medical team leader: https://www.cbc.ca/news/us-covid-19-surge-canada-1.5628979
  9. You're partially right. In the bigger picture, taking care of others also ultimately takes better care of yourself. Think about it. This applies both to specific issues like Covid, and to national health systems. And both of these are a (or the) key reason why the US is such a disaster with the pandemic, vs the rest of the world.
  10. A new way to refer to the one you refer to, in your area.....with the crowded people and loud music.
  11. Agree, and be responsible to others who are more at risk than you are. And avoid places like La Coveda. It is the selfish ones who become asymptomatic carriers who are causing the majority of the increases out there.
  12. Sharing this perspective as it is science and statistics, no politics, and ultimately likely applies at lakeside and everywhere else. Stay safe and maintain full and increased vigilance and precautions. Actual coronavirus infections vastly undercounted, CDC data shows APOORVA MANDAVILLI THE NEW YORK TIMES PUBLISHED 5 HOURS AGOUPDATED JUNE 27, 2020 26 COMMENTS SHARE Open this photo in gallery Loading... People in cars are lined up to be tested for COVID-19 as they make their way to a parking lot at Dodger Stadium on June 26, 2020 in Los Angeles, California. MARIO TAMA/GETTY IMAGES The number of coronavirus infections in many parts of the United States is more than 10 times higher than the reported rate, according to data released Friday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The CDC study found that in South Florida, just under 2% of the population had been exposed to the virus as of April 10, but the proportion is likely to be higher now given the surge of infections in the state. The prevalence was highest in New York City at nearly 7% as of April 1. The numbers indicate that even in areas hit hard by the virus, an overwhelming majority of people have not yet been infected, said Scott Hensley, a viral immunologist at the University of Pennsylvania who was not involved in the research. β€œMany of us are sitting ducks who are still susceptible to second waves,” he said. The difference between recorded infections and the actual prevalence in the data was highest in Missouri, where about 2.65% of the population was infected with the virus as of April 26, although many people might not have felt sick. This number is about 24 times the reported rate: nearly 162,000 compared with the 6,800 thought to have been infected by then. The results confirm what some scientists have warned about for months: that without wider testing, scores of infected people go undetected and circulate the virus. The CDC researchers tested samples from 11,933 people across six U.S. regions during discrete periods from March 23 through May 3: the Puget Sound region of Washington, where the first COVID-19 case in the country was diagnosed, as well as New York City, South Florida, Missouri, Utah and Connecticut. The samples were collected at commercial laboratories from people who came in for routine screening, such as cholesterol tests, and were evaluated for the presence of antibodies to the virus β€” which would indicate previous infection even in the absence of symptoms. The researchers then estimated the number of infections in each area. New York City, for example, reported 53,803 cases by April 1, but the actual number of infections was 12 times higher, nearly 642,000.
  13. Agree about Mobdro, IMHO it is a resource-sucker full of adware and who knows what else.
  14. I believe you can post answers to legit private individual questions about real estate or rental resources, just not start a thread that promotes them directly (advertising)
  15. I've only ever heard that question at the pet groomers! πŸ˜‰
  16. You are correct, however no one said there was such a thing. And FYI the advice / opinion was given by an immigration attorney.
  17. If you're a couple, you could put the new car, in the other person's name - problem solved.
  18. Then just apply for a temporal.....or show one's Telmex, CFE, or predial - all of those are said to be sufficient to prove at least seasonal residency vs "tourist".
  19. Chapala centro on Zaragoza I believe, on a SE street corner.
