  1. I think there is also a sign on the storefront saying "Ilumina" which I believe was the name of the old store in San Antonio. We have been there and it is still owned by the same person.
  2. Sorry, somehow I missed this. Am just checking this site now. If I can't find on my current page, then I must look elsewhere - perhaps it is not on the page that I normally look at.
  3. I appreciate these being shown, but they are Federal numbers and way off base with Jalisco numbers. The current Jalisco number is 43 (currently posted on Facebook by the Expat Liaison - Hector Espana. Perhaps it might be better to post the Jalisco numbers if you have access to these. Just a suggestion.
  4. There is a store on Ocampo just past Manix Restaurant if you are travelling east. They sell both HP and generic brands. Both seem to work in my printer.
  5. I bought a water cooler from Mercado Libre and had the same problems. Only buy small items now, and not very expensive.
  6. Only Mexicans have an INF card. Your Permanente card should suffice, if you want to continue along that route. Much easier to pay through Oxxo.
  7. No, but isn't it a bit early to think of cancelling? It does not happen until October or November.
  8. First of all, Mexican prescriptions are accepted, at least in Canada. I use Your Canada Drug Store to order a medicine for a type of leukemia. I only use them because it is cheaper. I first received three boxes of the medication through them (they are located in Winnipeg, Manitoba). The first shipment came from India at much reduced cost. However, the second time I tried I could not get from India due to Covid-19, however, did get the medication from Canada, albeit at much higher price. Try their website at www.ycdscc.com. By the way, the medication came in an unmarked box and did not appear to have problems at Mexican customs. I must admit, the first time I ordered, when the drugs were coming from India, I was worried that they might not arrive. It took approximately one month to get here. The second time from Canada it took approx. 3 weeks. Good luck.
  9. Is it possible to fly from PV to Toronto non-stop in the summer. Just thought these were winter flights?
  10. I just tried with Axion and it didn't work. What kind of detergent do you use?
  11. Someone in Walmart told me they are now only selling biodegradable bags.
  12. I just wish the Jalisco report went into some more detail, even if it only showed, in addition to total cases, the number of active ones, like the Federal report shows.
  13. My friend just renewed his driver's license and he first had to pay at the Recaudadora in Chapala, and then take the receipt along with the other required documentation, to the office to get his renewal. In his case it was Ocotlan, as he only had one day before his license expired. So, I would say, pay at the Recaudadora office (the same place where you pay your car registration early in the year) and then go to the office in Chapala near for Malecon for the balance of the process.
  14. It was announced by the Gobierno of Chapala on its Facebook site. I would imagine they should have a website as well. Perhaps you should look for it and check every day for announcements.
  15. We got ours back in Villa Nova about 12:30-1pm.
  16. I suggest you consult a dictionary and check the difference in meaning of "prostrate" and "prostate". Also, I am on Asoflon Duo and paid 761 pesos on the 1st of June at Farmacia GDL in Chapala. It has been on average 750 pesos for the past year. Where did you pay 1200 pesos?
  17. Wow, a lot of griping by people, assume both from USA and Canada. I have often heard it said, "if you want something done, do it yourself". Sounds like you bunch should get your Mexican citizenship and then run for office and fix all the problems around this area.
  18. My barber asks me everytime I go. I am sure he remembers but just wants to confirm.
  19. Friends who also have a Mexican license expiring soon told me that the office in Chapala will be open again as of Monday, 15 June.
  20. Would you be willing to share the cost for the set of hearing aids? Thanks.
  21. Teresa who works in the O'Rourke office on the Carretera, right across from Walmart. We have had our car and home insurance with her for many years. Our car insurance actually went down last year.
  22. There is a new Chopo lab in Riberas; I am not aware of the exact number. Even though Isilab is called such, the reports come from Chopo. I can get a test at 8am in the morning and have the results by 7 or 8pm the same day.
