I'm feeling your pain Mitch. I was born in San Diego and lived there most of my life. My wife still has most of her family living there. In normal years we would have made at least 2 trips up north. I missed my 50 year college reunion at USD. We talk to them almost daily so are aware of what's happening. Stay safe and healthy and hopefully in the near future we'll be able to travel again.
Thank you..I know we will..stay well.

Does it make sense to import my Mexican manufactured VW Convertible Beetle from the US to Mexico if I'm moving to Mexico. It's in excellent condition...48k original miles, Turbo 1.8L, 20 Valves...so I dont want to sell it here unless the costs are prohibited to import and license. Thanks in advance for your advice...Mitch

Hello...I'm planning a trip down when the pandemic has moved on and looking for an airb&b or other lodging recommendations and/or hotel recommendations. Not looking for a resort, but clean and friendly, and not to far from town.
Thank you for any suggestions....Mitch

Hello..
I was planning a trip down this Spring and now the world is in the grips of the virus. Borders are closed so no traveling for now. What is the latest news from Lake Chapala in regards to the virus? I hope it is not hitting hard down there.if there is another site I should be reading for this info, I’d appreciate the link..thanks for your help. Stay safe!

I agree with Xena and mudgirl. One should ALWAYS soak veggies and fruit in Microdyn solution (or?) unless you are going to peel them or cook them. The exception (for me) is to buy hydroponic "organically" grown Mr. Lucky lettuce in WallyWorld which states that it's ready to eat. I particularly like the butter lettuce since it still has roots. I use it from the outside in and run the root ball under purified water before I put it back in the fridge. Keeps it green and crisp.
On Tuesdays, there is an "organic" market in West Ajijic at the La Huerta Event Centre with lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and meats and ready made meals. It's very crowded in high season and opens at 10 am to a lineup. Closes at 2 pm
At best, I would say that true licensed organic growers do not exist here. Hell, you still have to wash the feathers and poop from some brands of eggs before using them... and don't expect the eggs to be a uniform size within the same dozen either.
I buy eggs up here in San Diego now from a woman who raises her hens in a pasture and all the additional feed is organic. The eggs are never uniform in size or color and now and then, you are washing poop and feathers, but having had an aunt in Kansas who had a farm, that does not phase me. Whenever I visited, they woke me at 4:30 am to feed and water the animals along with collecting eggs in many nests throughout the farm for our breakfast.....good times, good memories.

#slainte39 LOL....you are right...I guess it's a matter of semantics....

So, one cannot find a good selection of organic fruits and vegetables? Also, are they using water from the lake to water their veges/fruits?

#mudgirl Living in San Diego near the coast and growing up in NYC on the ocean, one misses thunder boomers and downpours...nothing like a solid drenching...lol...same in South Florida when I lived there and the Bahamas...when it rained, it poured....

I'll most likely look for a smaller place like an air b&b...thanks again....yes, rain is good and does clear the air. Love the rain esp at night...white noise to sleep by...very meditative...

#rafterbr Thank You...sounds good...whats the weather like over the next 4 weeks typically...

I agree with you...it's almost like people saying don't move to Seattle because it rains everyday. When I flew into Seattle to interview at Amazon, it was sunny and hot. During the interview I mentioned that and everyone said, please don't tell anyone...too many people moving here....lol

Funny, I live in San Diego and people keep moving here even though the infrastructure cannot support the numbers. Why are you still there if it has changed so much? I'm just curious...thanks.
