Hello everybody and Happy New Year!
Really excited to come to Chapala for the first time!

Both my husband and I are dreaming about making Chapala our new home.

We will arrive in Chapala on Jan. 3rd.

Would appreciate any suggestions re. do's and don'ts... any really faux steps we should not commit?

Any particular places/areas to avoid, disreputable realtors, tourist traps, etc?
Would appreciate any personal experiences anyone would care to share with us about being included/accepted in the Lake community. We are now living in Santa Fe, NM and we know there are quite a few ex Santa-Feans living in Chapala... Any chance in meeting them? Please spread the word.
I am fluent in Spanish, my husband is getting there... We both are originally from Romania, both artists.

We know about LCS and will definitely go there to meet with Chuck Ball, who was a total information-angel!
