  1. Don’t know what TIA means however from Riberas I’d take the macrolibramiento to avoid the detour where the road to Joco meets the road to Guadalajara. So thats a 70 pesos cuota to the Colima highway (Lopez mateos). Head south to Colima on the Colima Cuota highway. 1 hour 15 minutes to Ciudad Guzman. 10 minutes thru the pass for a total of 30 minutes to Colima and another 35 minutes to Cuyutlan. Obviously construction or traffic can slow these times. i keep the cruise control on 120 most of the way, maybe a little faster thru the dry lakes area. from Cuyutlan to ZLO is 35 m
  2. Cuyutlan 2 1/2 hours to 3 depending on your driving habits tons of restaurants in the beach to sit and watch whales relatively close to shore a couple of these beach puestos have an elevated location
  3. Southland I saw a gorgeous 2010 BMW GT at S&S for sale. Worth checking out.
  4. Honored to have known and spent time with him! In our hearts forever.
  5. Kiko, got any for the Comala - Volcano area on Colima side? Thanks
  6. Thanks, I’ll need luck fur sure. Appreciate the help.
  7. Great store across from Chapala City Hall. A few doors north of the church
  8. I would use the word “chalan” to describe an inexperienced worker assigned menial tasks.
  9. The price you pay has nothing to do with the transfer fee. There is a government website that will provide the price and relevant percentage to pay for the transfer based on year and model of your purchase Just yesterday I bought a new car cheaper then I could have purchased a one year old used vehicle
  10. Although off topic a little Harry’s post and Alpha’s experience raise the question of police action. Generally Hit and Run involves a personal injury and it would be of concern to at least one of the police services. Without a P.I. the offence is Fail to Remain at the Scene of an Accident. While relevant north of the border is it of concern here and to whom? It falls beyond the purview of Vialidad apparently and of no interest to the muni’s who need to “find committing” the offense. So for a FTR should it be reported to Ministerio Publico as is the case with Harry or just
  11. S&S Auto IS a salesperson for several dealerships. So if you value honesty and a proven reputation have a go. If your adamant about seeking out someone in Guadalajara more power to you!
  12. Several years ago a couple working there were involved in a scam. The apparent manager would claim your previous license from Guadalajara was fake. This was reported to the authorities in Guadalajara and the investigation showed it to be directed at gringos from Lakeside. Subsequently the Ocotlan office was closed to Lakeside residents. It was slso discovered some Lakeside residents had “bought” their licenses in Chapala and some had fake licenses. Now it appears from posts to be once again open to extranjeros.
  13. Maybe good food but since they don’t deliver I’ll never know. Loud music is a deal breaker for dining on-site.
  14. Other than Miramontes who is a good reliable driver for noon flights? Current costs? From Ajijic to airport.
  15. Try Kitchen Harmony in the little area just west of walmart
  16. It seems to me these are questions for your dealer. You made the deal and live with their process.
  17. Yes, I use Rene exclusively for airport trips. Great reliable service
  18. No I don’t think the policy should change. There is a place to go for the information and speculation and it’s sufficient in my opinion
  19. I drove the # 2 from Sonoyta last week. It has way too many potholes to make any kind of speed. The famous tire guy, Pedro in Gila needed to check tites thoroughly when I got there I came back from Gila Bend via nogales and good roads, a little construction but no traffic delays. That was a 2 day drive. Gila Bend to Navajoa the first day, early stop but I prefer it as an overnight point Then 10 1/2 hours from Navajoa to Ajijic day 2. the macrolibramiento from Mazatlan to the Guad/Chapala highway took hours off the journey
  20. So if you dumped Telmex, replacing it with a Telcel mobile phone and modem, would that be a viable option?
