  1. This is sad news. Dra Teresa was my primary doctor for many years. I was referred to her by a retired emergency room doctor as I was tired of the local "gold diggers". I always enjoyed my visits to her clinic as we always ended up chatting about things completely unrelated to health issues. What was great was that she had a "turn key" office with a lab operated by her husband and a pharmacy as well as several recovery/small surgery rooms. She will be greatly missed. (I asked her once why the front door was kept locked, she explained that at times bullets were present in the street).
  2. I have found that a couple of nice cold MODELO's every Saturday evening have worked great for my health. 😊 (no prescription needed).
  3. Now I remember why I did not get married. 😊
  4. Its just going to get worse if AMLO wins the votes today to implement his "Reforma Electrica".
  5. Religions and politics are the root cause of all evil, hence I believe that Golden Retrievers should rule the world. 😊
  6. Yes San Francisco was great. My mom past away in 2012 at the Casa Nostras. The doctor came and handled the paper work. I still smile at what the Doctor was doing as he was showing me where my mom had all her aches and pains as if I was a medical student. Then came San Francisco employees, 2 young kids still wearing their football gear. 😊. Total cost including cremation from memory around 6000 pesos. (my moms ashes are in her garden in Ontario as well as my first Golden retriever which was my moms love). bmh, sorry for your loss sound like your husband was like minded like you.
  7. "Bull Dog" Alfaro was in town in the beginning of this week so I guess this was part of his grand tour (maybe). 2 years ago or so he was in my neighborhood of Chapala to announce that he was going to improve the road that connects the Libriamento to upper Chapala. Great job, it went from being a donkey path to a cattle path...Maybe its time he has a couple of late night drinks at one of Puerto Vallarta up scale bars. 😉
  8. Maybe this was suppose to be an April fools prank 😉
  9. And French 😉 ( as a kid I use to hold the record of the number of spelling errors. Since the teacher was using a red pen to correct my spelling I simply started to use a red pen 😊)
  10. Just on a side note. if the economy goes belly up and banks go bankrupt, but your deposits have some sort of government insurance, well they may pay you back for your losses but....if every one loses your 30,000 pesos may just be enough to buy a roll of toilet paper. 😊
  11. Guess you will have to shift from eating T-Bone steaks to eating Tacos 😊
  12. I live in an all Mexican neighborhood and I have 2 brick layers/iron workers/plumbers/electricians and we do a lot of renovation work. I buy a lot of stuff but the sellers never see me. 😉. I always smile at the prices charged to non Mexicans. 😇 (but then again both parties are happy).
  13. I guess you do not know very many Mexicans 😉
  14. Well, you may recall the multi axel truck loaded with gravel that crashed coming in to Chapala a couple of months ago that sadly killed several people. Every day several of these trucks come down the same road to service the gravel and sand businesses located in Chapala. (And yes they are well overloaded).
  15. Try www.cytsa.com.mx. Their webpage is both in Spanish and English. They have a manufacturing plant in Guadalajara. You can buy directly but their counter is only open on Saturdays for a couple of hours. (price of tanks has pretty much doubled in 4 years).
  16. The price of the bolio (bread bun) will be increased to 10 pesos as of this coming Tuesday. In other words it has doubled in price in the space of one year (in my area anyway).
  17. Thanks for posting this sad news Happyjillin. Always enjoyed his short postings even know I did not always see eye to eye with him. Pappysmarket thanks for giving us an insight on his life, he sure lived it to the fullest. Will miss his opinions on all things that matter.
  18. If I was to start a wine cellar, I would definitively hire you as a consultant, no wonder you did well. The other thing a really miss about French cuisine is the "plateau de fromages" that is always rolled in after the main meal. (I would kill for some Caprice Des Dieux just to mention one out of so many).
  19. Did you bring some bottles with you. 😊
  20. You will get to know HappyJillin. Only a couple of days ago he insulted a women who had just lost her husband.
  21. Sorry my dad passed away several years ago as he would have respectively disagreed with your knowledge of wines from the Bordeaux region. 😏
  22. My dad was a member of the "Academie du CEP". Am guessing the wine cellar probably had over 3000 bottles. Up until my 40th birthday I always had a bottle of Saint Emilion 1957 (year of birth). I no longer drink much wine since I was spoiled when living in Switzerland. Forgot to mention French cuisine, probably the best on this planet. (Traveled a lot in France with the guide Michelin 😊).
