Our first hand experience with Mi Casita, SAT was all positive.  Mother was a resident, just passing in August.  A few of little extras we appreciated were the weekly field trips and customized menus not only based on dietary but likes and dislikes.  We also found there was enough English spoken that mother never felt isolated.  The proprietors are Mina and Alex.

Over the summer I made 2 round trips through Laredo and 1 through Nogales.  In all cases they were uneventful.

Coming south from Nogales I stayed in Los Mochis, then back home in Chapala the next evening.  Stay on the cuotas 

and enjoy the ride.

We got a combined Debit card for $1200 about 3 weeks ago.

Here’s my observation.   Although well meaning, not one comment was concerned about the vender and their plight.  Unlike the Expats, they have no income or unemployment insurance or a safety net.  Of course if you’re uncomfortable, don’t go.  But give them a chance to feed their families.
