  1. If you have bought this drug that is someone else's challenge now.  The drug stores are emptied.  This is yet another new low for humans / selfishness. What a nightmare for those who cannot get this drug now and need it to relieve autoimmune skin conditions and other afflictions. I have already seen people posting on Facebook that they are in trouble because the drugstores are out.  How inconsiderate.   Stay in and you will have no reason to go into panic mode with a chance that this will help precious you.

  2. Man dies after self-medicating with chloroquine phosphate to treat coronaviru

A man died in Phoenix after self-medicating with chloroquine phosphate to treat covid-19, Banner Health announced in a statement Monday.

The man’s wife, who also self-medicated with chloroquine phosphate, is in critical care, according to Banner Health. The man was in his 60s, as is his wife. Banner Health did not identify either of them by name.

This came just two days after President Trump suggested, in a tweet, that a mix of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin could be an effective treatment for covid-19. Neither drug had been approved by the Food and Drug Administration or World Health Organization as a treatment for the coronavirus, and has not been in the time since.

“Given the uncertainty around COVID-19, we understand that people are trying to find new ways to prevent or treat this virus, but self-medicating is not the way to do so,” Daniel Brooks, medical director of Banner Health’s Poison and Drug Information Center, said in the statement.

“The last thing that we want right now is to inundate our emergency departments with patients who believe they found a vague and risky solution that could potentially jeopardize their health.”

Banner Health urged that chloroquine, a drug used to treat malaria, “should not be ingested to treat or prevent” the virus.

On Saturday, after Trump endorsed hydroxychloroquine on Twitter, Nigeria reported two cases of chloroquine poisoning. That led Nigerian health officials to issue a warning against using the drug to treat the coronavirus, which was echoed by Banner Health after a related death.

  3. No need to panic.. This is how things get crazy.

Bancomer is indoors in the lobby, correct?  All businesses who care for their employees are either shutting down,

or they are taking steps to alter exposure from clientele/traffic.

Indoor banks where many are shoved up against each other are likely limiting traffic into their bank and it will not affect ATM booths.

Two people in Nigeria just dies from taking chloroquine in the belief that it would protect them from COVID19 and more people in other places are being hospitalized for the same thing. You'd have to be mentally deficient to self-medicate on the basis of what the POTUS says, wich right away was proven as false. It has not been approved by the FDA.

Yes, in Nigeria, health authorities are warning against self-medicating, after two patients overdosed on the anti-malaria drug chloroquine, which has been falsly has praised as a possible treatment for coronavirus. Tests are currently being carried out with anti-malarials in the U.S. and other countries, but the FDA and the WHO have not approved its use as a treatment for COVID-19. Back in the U.S., lupus patients have reported shortages of the drug hydroxychloroquine — which is used to treat both malaria and lupus — following false recent statements.

And following those statements, which conflicted what the facts really are (nothing confirmed/trials must be completed), Gupta was stunned by that info, for it conflicts with what Fauci is stating.   False claims about possible treatments for the coronavirus, as expert Dr. Anthony Fauci attempted  to tamp down optimism about the treatments at a press conference, messes with so many peoples minds, and makes them buy up items that could be dangerous, in a panic.

They have not even begun to do widespread testing in Mexico.   Look at what that delay does to a country like USA.   Then think of the large extended families here, and the level of social interaction.  Infection disease specialists believe that this will be worse in Mexico, as people will not have the means or family structure that will enable them to limit social interaction.

By the way I have heard of at least one person in the area, whom has tried to get testing for what he said is definitely not the flu.  He was very social.  A member of the LCS.  His friend said they are worried and the best he can get for this respiratory illness is it must be flu? Told: testing is not available for CV.

  6. Careful with recommendations of stent. We had that recommendation, from a top/well known cardiologist here in Mexico.  We then reviewed with Cardiologist from States, and he ordered another test, then concluded not only was not required at all.  He went on to explain that having that put in place could have led to problems later.  This from a University of Penn Cardiologist.

There is nothing available to fight this virus and people can start spreading the virus before they start showing symptoms.

Keep abreast of the news so we don’t have to be arguing with the ignorant. Let’s have a dialogue based on known facts.

Dow futures this morning is -730 points so some people are starting to worry.

    Agreed.

The vaccine is a long ways off.  American Drug makers have been deploying drugs to China which make help and were originally to target HIV, Malaria and Ebola, for a trail use. However, even if those drugs work (In China where American drug makers are sending them), I wonder what is the chance that they will be shipped to Mexico?  I gather that is unlikely, provided the trials even go well.

Those over 60+ and/or those with older (60+) immune systems appear to be hardest hit, and , it would benefit most from such measures.  Other measures (preventive) should also be taken seriously.

  8. A swallow problem:  (Perhaps many of the swallow fans here might have advice) Each year a swallow pair comes to build their nest, under our covered deck.  Each year the babies are born and they end up dead on the floor.  The mother goes nuts as this is taking place.  This is several years in a row already, and it is rather depressing to see them die and go through that stress. I don't mind cleaning up from bird poop mess, but gosh this is so very sad.

    Any advice????

Thanks for the information.  I'm just a little too "thrifty" to pay $19.76 for throwaway bags.😎

The spaghetti pot will have to do.

Welcome.  The cool thing about ordering from amazon is that if you added this onto another order, the extra shipping might only be as much as an additional dollar.  24 bags last a very long time, and come out to very little per bag/use over time.  But then again, I do not make chicken soup every month, so that 24 bag supply lasts.

  11. This is a must that few are aware of:

Those voting for US elections should always follow up on if their absentee ballot has been received.

You must call to confirm that.

We sent in absentee ballots, and the first two attempts did not register for the 2016 election.  The third time was the charm.  Confirmed.

Do not assume after you have sent off your ballot that your work is complete.  Send with plenty of time to resend. Then call until you have a confirmation.

  12. So I gather, one might say they were on highway 2 , traveling alongside the border, after dark.

It's a long stretch of 2 lane, dangerous road, heading over to an even more questionable area of risk.

That area appears to have quite a history.  If you google this, you will come up with some info,

such as this, in the https://www.texasmonthly.com/articles/ghost-town/

One can only guess that they may have been planning to cross the border into the US at Nueva Ciudad Guerrero, Tamaulipas, Mexico.

Original reports say they were visiting relatives in San Luis Potosi

But a more recent article said they were visiting relatives in Monterrey.

    Bottom line.. just my opinion:

Toll roads and daylight are crucial when traveling to the border.  Even then be alert and stay informed.
