If you believe COVID-19 "traffic signal" sanitation warnings are based on miracles and magic then you are misinformed.  Here is an exhibit showing the empirical evidence used to determine the "red signal" warning for Jalisco for 9-22 August 2021.  You can review the methodology for yourself if you wish by accessing the link below.

The public is misinformed.  Point of my post was: We were not green.  We were assigned a green category, but it was not based on accurate numbers.   What has become red, would have been red if the numbers were accurate!

I was of course being sarcastic.  If anyone believes in the official rate of infection as stated in Mexico, they are sadly mistaken.  In fact: While health authorities are saying that Covid-19 is currently infecting some 20,000 people a day, the actual number is 25 or 30 times higher, according to an infectious disease specialist.

We have a CRV Honda purchased here, we'd like to use in the US.

We would have it there, over the 1 year cut off limit, so it would have to be imported and retagged.

Has anyone here successfully done this, and if so what were the steps.

If one of those steps was to acquire an MSO (Manufacturers Statement of Origin), how did you overcome that?

What was the expense of such an import to the US?

If you are so kind to detail this you may send me a PM (private message) with such.

The article was by the Associated Press (in case you didn't notice). That's about as central as is possible right along with Reuters.... Unvaccinated Missourians fuel COVID: 'We will be the canary' (msn.com)

I'm not living in fear. I'm living with knowledge and will protect myself and those I care about from those who are ignorant.  I like Bisbee's Darwin theory principle though. Pretty soon there will be no right leaning ME, ME, ME's any more and the world can get back to living in harmony and taking care of each other. THAT benefits us ALL.

Again, Ferret is the voice of sanity.

If you are sitting home and not vaccinated fine.... But we know most of the unvaccinated are circulating about.  That's a shame.  You put others at risk.

It's a me society, with people placing their needs ahead of others in their communities, and labeling that act of conscience in negative terms such as 'fear'.   Humans have always been self serving, but this takes it to a new level when people give their ear to non-scientific beliefs, and others end up paying for it.  It is the unvaccinated we will have to thank for this continuing to spread at such a rate in our society,  in the creation of stronger variants and more preventable deaths.  To those who have your ear... make certain the scientists are being quoted.

This virus will be slowly plucking at the unvaccinated for a long time.  Watch them fall, some of them in denial even during their last breaths.... Using that last breath to demand and question as in this quote "What do I have, I cannot have Covid, that isn't real".

If you think you are safe here in Mexico from this, the opposite is true.  The numbers are underreported and indeed the risk is greater for a number of reasons.  Sorry to poke at your political bubble you have put yourself in, though doubt it will burst. That thinking is pretty insulating and I doubt anyone can talk sense to them.

I'd hold tight to that card then!  My sister who is going to travel international, they could care less about that card btw.  They want her to do two tests prior to travel and this is EL AL airlines.  Once she arrives, she is staying inside, working from her computer.  She wouldn't even think of sightseeing.  It's really not as big a deal as people are making it out to be.   My motto is don't stress the small stuff.

I consider yourself fortunate indeed to have been vaccinated (and in doing so in the US, vaccines for two people here have been freed up)... Many are not so lucky.

Why anyone would debate anything with FlyFree is beyond me.. All you are doing is giving him more avenues to post his irrelevant garbage...

It all began with a well meaning post to convey information.  I thought it was most helpful.

Too many engage in "assault" tactics here.

And,  in Covid times there appears to be an added trigger, as many don't even acknowledge emotionally just how the stress of the crisis has hit them.

I think before we type, it would be helpful to think twice, and try extra hard to be kinder to one another.

Yes you must commit a crime and lie to the immigration agent, and hope they don't ask you for an appointment slip or email for the appointment.

Actually you do have an appointment if you have booked to get a vaccine.  That is considered medical.  And yes, it may be a good idea to carry that confirmation that you received as proof.

The McAllen flights are very limited; 2 northbound per week, 3 southbound per week

Volaris to LAX has early morning flights and late afternoon and evening flights DAILY.

Yes, and we are booked for the LAX flight...

This poster was very helpful to other Canadians seeking to enter the US by ground.   Note the purpose of visit  response should be "Medical Appointment".

  8. Everyone must make their own choice.

For me, being on a plane that requires testing within three days of travel, was important.

I wished that they had done that with the CBX XPRESS.

For air travel within Mexico, they are doing a disservice to passengers in not

    requiring testing.

I DEFINITELY would have gone the CBX that route, had they had that requirement!

In my view it came down to paying a little more in cost, to have that extra assurance.

The fact that the CBX is so inexpensive, seems to have a hidden perk in reducing. the passengers on the LAX flights.

I've check day prior seating on those LAX flights, and they are rather scarcely booked,

with a handful of seats booked.  During covid... yeah I like that!

That said, I will remember that CBX flight for Post-Covid times, for shopping etc lol!

  9. Flight booked. We both decided to go and get vaccinated.  If anyone wants to know of a reasonable cost / nicely spaced one day in out route to getting vac'd, with vaccine within walking distance of airport (Under 1.5 miles), feel free to contact me for details/happy to help others.  Good luck to everyone and stay safe... this is not anywhere near over!

Volaris has daily 6am flights to LAX.. with time difference you are there at 7am CA time. There are at least 2 return flights afternoon and evening. All nonstop all about same time in air as their flights to TIJ. 3 hours.

Yup... that is what I am showing and coordinating on this end as well... The LAX flight!

And better to get it done prior to the Covid surge that 4th of July weekend will present.

    -----------

I have decided to take a flight in/ out (same day/direct flight from Guad to US. All vacs available including J&J. Logistics completely worked out. Vaccination site is near the airport, as is an amazon locker hub to pick up a few goodies.

Travel buddy not required for this, but others are welcome to join me.   If interested PM me... Maybe I can help someone out as I have worked out all the details.  DONE.

  11. The trick is between my checking California, AZ and Texas, was to find a location that would allow me an in and out flight, same day, no staying over, with a comfy gap between for vaccination.  I am sure that there are other states, but my find was California.  In that area from that Calf airport, I found that there are CVS and Walgreens.  Walmart might be another option if indeed I couldn't find those other two.  I cannot believe the abundance of vaccines, just between CVS and Walgreens in that area.

Sounds like a plan.  Where in the US, did you need to book a vaccination appointment?  Any help much appreciated.

Hi JKSC:  The websites to check are CVS and Walgreens. Review which vaccines are available near your given airport.  Note times, and then coordinate your in and out flight.  I went a bit further and checked for an Amazon hub near the vac site.  I need some medical stuff not available here.  I am only bringing a small travel carryon with me.

  14. For me to be fully vac'd with Pfizer would take two doses/trips.  I have a plan that can fill one of those, if someone whom lives in Lake Chapala does not step forward.  I am not in a rush.  Therefore, not fully examining flights at this point, though if I did a flight, it would be one where testing is required.

Keeping my options open. My car is available for the drive.

All types of vaccines available, though I am aiming for the Pfizer.

I simply want to be vaccinated in advance of a (car travel) cross country trip in August.

Accepting requests to drive with me later, and will consider trips all the way up through till the end of July.  End of July being my cut off point.

  15. We have used Arturo for at least 5 years. He is in great demand, and if an emergency will handle those first.

We have never been disappointed, and my goodness he never pads his charges, or takes advantage of us in anyway... completely trustworthy..

    So honest.

He let us know he was backed up with work, and we simply (if it's not urgent) tell him to just let us know when he can come by.

He has never forgotten us with that type of request.

Yeah the guy is in demand, but he is so good
