  1. If being a thorn in someone's side is not getting the answers you want, why not go and get the answers yourself. Then you can let us know. I appreciate the work these people are doing to let us know of what is or isn't going on in our community.
  2. I need a washing machine repair person at Lakeside soooon! Neither phones of Gualberto Real work. Is there another local good repair person? All help is appreciated. 😊
  3. Work may be started in Chapala but once the photo shoot with the dignitaries takes place it will not be finished. How much longer till the brown parking meters are removed? They are unsightly but the big story went on and on and on.....and they will probably be there for another few years. Then there are the cameras that were installed at the big intersection by restaurant row in Chapala. I don't remember when they were installed but are they used, still work? And then the 3 month project burying the utilities and resurfacing Gonzalez Gallo for 3 blocks. It was a slow winter work project that lasted for more than a year. Then along came the big photo shoot and if you drive past that section, you will see that the utilities are not connected to the houses. That was 2015........and it is also the only place I have seen a speed bump only in the parking lane! So, yes Chapala has its problems too. Would I leave? NO!
  4. Welcome to our little place in Mexico, chill out and have a little laugh....and make the world go round!
  5. Is the same Chopo that has a big blue sign on that new building just down from Pancho's?
  6. Oh Bonbelle we recognize you are a newbie and we are just trying to toughen your skin so you can ward off the barbs and enjoy a good laugh. And every once in awhile, you might see a very helpful bit of information so stay with us.
  7. Of course the sun on the oil will burn but why would you spray any plant with anything while in the sun. The naranja tree gets dapple sun about 2 - 3 hrs in the afternoon and has no burn signs and is doing fine.
  8. Checking my plants today and the 5' naranja tree was covered in white fly with a few scale as well. How do they arrive on the plants, on the wind, climb from below or via birds? What is the latest method of getting rid of both? Please not the garlic or tobacco mixture. Is there a spray or a companion plant that can keep these pests away? Appreciate any help. 😊A happy solution that works. I found this on the internet but don't know where. ~~~You can mix up a simple recipe for an insecticide spray for whiteflies right in your kitchen. First, make a base mixture with 1 tablespoon of regular dish soap (not one with added bleach or an antibacterial soap) and 1 cup of vegetable oil. Pour it into a bottle that can be sealed, and shake well to mix. Note: This recipe must be diluted before using it on your plants. Diluting the Recipe Now that you have your base, you can mix 1 1/2 teaspoons of it into a cup of water. Mix this in a spray bottle, and shake it well. Oil and water do not mix, so it needs to be shaken often as you are using it. Using the Spray Once your spray is properly diluted and mixed, you can spray your affected plants. Be sure to spray the undersides of leaves, since this is where the whiteflies tend to be. This mixture kills adult whiteflies and smothers the larvae and eggs as long as they are covered in the spray, so be sure to apply it liberally. Reapply as needed after rain or watering your plants. I sprayed till the tree was dripping and next day there was no sign of any insects. I sprayed again 10 days later and there was no adverse effects to the plant.~~~ 😄 A simple solution, 😁 happy plant, 😊 a happy gardener.
  9. If you look at my posting you can see that's not what I asked for.
  10. Just got an email from Talstar saying they only ship in the US. Can you please tell me where to find it here? Thanks
  11. I have looked up Talstar and it has a list of bugs it can take out. Did you buy it here at lakeside? I have emailed Talstar to find out if it is available in Mexico. Thanks for the help.
  12. Many governments around the world want to get rid of the various types of plastics that are used by millions and millions of people who are tired of hearing it and few will listen any more. Remember the leaded gas vs unleaded gas? The arguments went on with everyone having their own opinion as to how it would adversely affect their product, mainly cars. They finally chose a date and had the producers on line for the change. We agreed it was good for all of us. There were some dissenters, but so few. So why not apply the same idea. Get together with a large number of manufacturers, tell them there is a date set for change to a better environmental product. Stick to the agreed upon date, no changes, no special studies etc. It is easier to change the smaller group of manufactures than to change the many households in the world. What gets me is people who buy large size bags for their garbage. What did we do before plastic?😊

Be sure to spray plants early in the morning or late in the day when temperatures are cooler, as the heat may cause an adverse reaction in your plant.~~~😊 I drenched the little tree till it was dripping, didn't see anything the next day, sprayed 10 days later and there are no signs of whiteflies or scale and can't see anything adverse. Hurrah, it worked! 😁
  14. Need to repair or replace kitchen cupboard doors and a drawer. Is there someone locally who can do this? I appreciate any help. 🙂
  15. I use .com and .com.mx quite often and have had good service. I am seldom in a hurry so normal delivery is usually 5 days or less unless they tell you it might be delayed because it is not in stock yet. I use my home address and if I am not home they take it to DHL in Ajijic or Mailboxes where I can pick it up. You can now use whichever currency you want charged to your credit card. I use 2 cards, one for my Mx address and another for when I send to NOB. If I can find what I want in .com.mx, I order from there but you have to read and understand what you are paying for. An Item may cost $120p and then next to that they will say + $300p for import fees. Check and see if you can get it thru .com. They will tell you if it ships to here and estimate the fees. If they over charge in their fees they will credit it back to your card....even for just a few cents. Amazon.com has a much better selection and many times I wonder why they don't at .co.mx. There have been times both will have an item and it will be cheaper thru .com, including fees and shipping. Go figure!
