  1. We have OOma and tried it and wouldn't work. I am trying to get a direct answer from technical support/ We can use capitol one 360 as our main source of getting monies from the United state at our ATM. No issue there.
  2. Get A VPN like Express VPN wher you can choose from many sites and you wont be having differnt IP adresses. You can choose one address based on the state and make it static as in every time you log in it will show the same IP address. I have also begun to have problems with Capitol one. I have capitol one 360 checking Used to send verification codes through my email and talked to customer service and they said they were switching everyone over to text message or voice message a security code. They were true to their word. Even companies like ATT are using double verification to pay one bills . Issue for me was my wife was out of country with the cell phone with the number on fille and many sites that use double verification would only send and SMS to that phone number
  3. correct. I am on jersey 2 and it wont work. Because of all my banking I have stayed on Jersey 2 because of static IP address. I fear the moving to 3 to watch Prime and then moving back would change my IP address of jersey 2 and the banks would shut me down in a NY minute
  4. Dr. Youcha is the only one Lakeside as far as we know with a cedula and he had been doing this work for 40 years . He is a doctor. Went to chiropractic school at Northwestern University and is the 60th certified chiropractor in Mexico. Teaches special classes in Mexico City and other Latin American countries . He has an associate, Roberto who I hear is also very good and also someone who comes in to do acupuncture. Dr. Youcha is the real deal. We have been to quite a few in the states and My wife's first visit was pretty amazing considering she was walking real straight with no pain after her first visit. Initial visit for my wife was 1750 pesos. Each session afterwards has been 750.
  5. Yesterday I logged in and the verification is by text only on our accounts. Called them and they said they are switching everyone. I wonder what caused that to happen. ALL my other banks give me a choice.
  6. Express VPN has the option of having a static IP address.
  7. I have no issues whatsoever with getting email verification from capital one. What I do know if you set it up notifications from the beginning it can get real weird. we have 2 accounts with email verification. One has a choice of 2. The other has a choice of one and they were setup at the same time. I use a VPN with a static IP address which is real helpful. I also noticed that for me at least the capitol one website works far better than with Firefox than with chrome.
  8. We also went there when it first opened and the food was quite good but minimal in quantity. They were still revising their menu. The space is beautiful but it felt like we were eating in too big a space . My wife called it 1/2 a basketball court. The owner and waiter were very cordial and they knew their stuff. My concern is that it may not survive unless they add more items more conducive to what expats want. . Apparently they and the other businesses that are in that massive space from what I can gather are partners in it. We may try it again.
  9. We have purchased red and mixed quinoa and black quinoa on the way back from Costco at Fresko supermarket a few miles away. You will see it on the way back to the macrolibramiento on the right hand side.
  10. I like their swedish meatballs. Wonder if they will have food service
  11. Physical. My bank in the states charges no conversion rate.
  12. Does anyone know of the best place/bank to get the best rates on converting dollars to pesos. Thank you kindly.
  13. I posted above that the site that lists the website for quality care itself is not working and I warned people not to go there. Their website on the page you posted is. www.qcdoctors.org I highly recommend no one go to it becuase it is corrupted and my firewall (Norton) stopped an attack from that website and instead as I advised, send an email requesting info like I did to the email address posted on the page you posted. Phone / Teléfono: 01 (376) 7661870 E-mail: qcdoctors@gmail.com
  14. The website listed is not online . I wouldn't go to it. My firewall blocked an attack. I sent an email on asking them for specifics. Here is the only I could find.... http://www.chapala.com/quality-care.html
  15. My comment will make it more expensive? I would think that the market makes the rules and if all the hospitals that are being planned to open do actually open there will be competition unless there is collusion. I read a post on one board from a local doctor who asked if he should by an Audi A7. Apparently business must be very good at the prices you speak of. I cant afford an audi A7. I do compare things with my own country just as you did when you first arrived. I guess its a habit to think in terms of dollars since i Have been dealing with that form of currency for 55 years. I promise I will never do it again. Scouts honor. Wouldn't want my post to raise prices for all Lakeside residents. I didn't know all the lakeside doctors read these posts. If they are all I can say to them is that your prices for medical services are too high. Hope that helps.
  16. Thats it? and for a specialist? The parking lot fee at my doctor's office at the University of Penn was higher since they tell you to show up at least 45 minutes early to fill out reams of paperwork including legal documents that you wont sue them and then you get to wait in the small doctors room for another hour . So the time spent is close to 3 hours and your next appointment is usually available maybe in 3 months if you are lucky and here I hear they will give you their whatsapp number and even come to your home at night and if necessary drive you to the GDl hospital themselves if its an emergency. An Ambulance ride where I used to live was approx 4,000 dollars and not covered by insurance. The system is crashing in the states. Thank you very much for providing me that info. Another person told me the same thing and I thought I must have done the conversion wrong or the other individual left off a zero. And thank you Mrs. Rupert For the endorsement of Quality care.
  17. And Neither Have I since in the states there is a retail price and an insurance reimbursement price which I never see unless insurance wont cover it and I am stuck with a massive bill. Thank you for a well crafted response. I always thought that I could take it with me. . The rules in Mexico must be different but as you can see over my name I am a newbie and I guess you don't like newbie questions but thanks for taking the time to answer me. I don't take answers like that personally, however may I suggest that many newbies who do post may have questions that seem ridiculous but we have no reference. Have a great day. Off to the bank to close the account where I have monies to take with me when my time is up on this planet.
  18. Thank you kindly. I haven't yet been to a doctor here so the only reference I have is from back in the states. Used to large co pays and deductibles and have not learned all the ins and outs of private insurance here. Sure is different. So, expensive to me means 200 dollars for a 10 minute medical checkup by a doctors aid or nurse practitioner in a transaction based sick care system and an EKG costing 500 USD and $5,000 colonoscopies. I have spoken to quite a few people Lakeside and no one never mentioned Quality care and the few times I passed the building it looked closed so I didn't give it much thought . I inquired with someone else who said they went to a great doctor there but it was expensive. That was the basis for my question. Quality Care seems to have many specialists on site . Since I am new to the area I Have to get rid of my definition of what expensive is, based on living In America where my sick care insurance ran about 20k a year with high deductible and co pays and my wife and I are in great shape and in early sixties. They seem to have many specialists which is great and I will definitely check them out rather then go to Guadalajara because I would assume many of the doctors at this clinic are from GDL. The new lab there is important to me since I require quarterly blood work . My last set of labs was over 1600 dollars and those bills sure add up. Will definitely make appointment after reading this thread. The fact that they are bilingual and young is also very appealing. Now I need to get health insurance which brings up so many other issues as I travel down that path. I hear of the Bellon agency a lot . Wea and Best were brought up but I don't see them on the mexican list for authorized insurance companies. But that's for another whole different discussion. I do feel uncomfortable asking it on this board because of so many snide remarks and being called a troll by some. Great learning experience for me. Again, many thanks for a simple and civil response.
  19. I was told they are on the expensive side compared to other doctors in the area.. Any truth to that? Thank you.
  20. Do you use quality care as your primary physicians and are they bilingual? I looked them up ans cant find what their specialties are. Great to know they have a lab there.
  21. Valium and Xanax belong to a class of drugs called benzodiazepines.https://www.drugs.com/drug-class/benzodiazepines.html Same with clonazepam .Klonopin. Benzos are some of the most evil drugs known to man and are responsible for so much pain. Doctors hand out Xanax and klonopin like candy and in doing so are destroying lives. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benzodiazepine_withdrawal_syndrome Its real. Also rebound anxiety. Never ever go off benzos cold turkey if you are a long time user and that may be as short as a month. It can literally kill you if you have been on it for years. I lost a good friend when she was taken off klonopin cold turkey. Threw herself in front of a train, the withdrawal was so bad. But they called it suicide. There is no money for doctors and big pharma if they cure something or if you die. They want to "manage" your issue. I have spoken to local doctors who say that they prescribe so much klonopin because they have to. Their patients come from NOB already addicted. easier to gett off of heroin. https://www.alternet.org/story/151166/america's_most_dangerous_pill
  22. I was sent home from surgery with 1 weeks supply of very heavy duty pain killer. Dilaudid. I took one pill and not another. Your sister in law is correct for so many people. I lived with the pain. In a way I called my pain Joe my friend, and I healed quite well. When on pain killer after other surgeries I did too much, thinking I was fine and I wasn't , just numb. I paid the price. And when one is on pain killer for a week or so and doctor says no more you go cold turkey. Thats why so many people try and buy it illegally. I read an article that spoke of 75% of the medication taken in the world is by Americans. If that is correct, something is definitely wrong.
