  1. Does anyone have the days, and hours, of when the recycling center in West Ajijic is open? Or for that matter, is it still in operation?
  2. If you want to travel to Cuba there are vacation packages that you can travel on, right here, locally. Visit this communist country, and see how the real Cuban's live. If you want to move there on a permanent basis, and join their lifestyle, I'm sure they will be happy to take your dollars. In the meantime see Fidel Castro's grandson's decadent lifestyle: https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=images+of+Fidel+Castro's+garndson+on+his+yacht&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8 Definitely not in Cuba.
  3. Yes, we are so fortunate that the word "mordida" does not exist in Mexico! And better still, corruption is totally unheard of.
  4. I count my change right when I checkout. I ask for the amount that I've been short changed. The cashier reimburses me without contradiction or argument. I'm not short changed all the time, but I find that it is more likely to happen when I've been given a lot of small coins in change.
  5. You've proved my point. No further discussion warranted!
  6. I suppose you don't have any anti-American political bias? Why don't you keep your political opinions to yourself before preaching to others.
  7. Hey! Have you not checked the prices that we pay here? There is already a 25% tariff and more.
  8. Yes, I second Gualberto Real. I've been using him for my appliances.
  9. My question was, do I need to continue contributing to her IMSS while the maid is a "no show."
  10. What happens if a maid, who is supposed to work once a week for 5 hours, decides not to show up. The employer does not need to pay her, but is the employer, by law, still responsible for her IMSS, etc. for that period of time? What happens if the employee does not show up for two or three weeks, or even a more extended period of time, without communicating with the employer? I have found this type a situation, more so with maids than with gardeners, where the excuse or explanation is I had to take my child to the dentist, or go the the child's school, or, or, or and on and on. Of course, they do not think they need to call you to say they're not showing up.
  11. Will this apply to part time domestic help and gardeners?
  12. I see an Ilox van and an Ilox person stringing up cable in Villa Nova.
  13. In 2002, El Torito used to have its bolillos in an uncovered basket, on a shelf close to the floor. I shopped at El Torito on a regular basis and bought my buns there. One day, someone brought their dog to the store. The dog lifted its leg and p**d on the bolillos. I do not shop at that store any longer.
  14. You need to contact your own bank. That is also what HSBC will tell you.
