  1. About 2 hundred yards west of the entrance to rhe Raquet Club in San Juan Cosola on the north side is a GREAT little restaurant called Succelenta Restaurante. Ate lunck there today and we were all very with the foos and service. Our server, Louis, spoke excellent english and could not have been more accomodating! Mostly Mexican cuisine but, great variety. I had the chicken enchiladas and Heidi had their burger. Both were excellent. Our bill came and, another surprise! It $335 for both meals and drinks. Going back real soon. Just breakfast and linch...I think!
  2. We've gpne a couple of times for lunch and, it seems like it getting worse! There will be NO return visits for us!
  3. being a former reataurant owner, I know what a tough business it can be. In all the years we've lived here I've never posred a negative review of a restaurant...until now! Heidi and I made the mistake of going to Scallionc this morning. The only example I'll give is that Heidi ordered Steak and Eggs which comes with fruit and potatos. She got the steak, and, nothing else! I ordered an omelette with bacon and cheese. The bacon was so tough I had to cut the omelete with a knife...3 bites and i quit. In closing, the coffee was good!
  4. Damn, I forgot to mention that Telmex still expects me to pay for the installation...for something that doesn't work! Go figure
  5. It's typical Telmex over promise-under deliver. If you cannot provide the service don't "BS" your clients just to get theis r money! Crappy way to conduct business!
  6. We 've been using cablevision, in Riberas, as our internet provider for about 3 years. We get 15 mg for $400 pesos per month. Not the fastest, but, very reliable. Not a single outage since we started. I happened to be in Telmex and saw their flyer advertizing 50 mg for $349. I thought wow, 3x faster for less money! So, being the dummy that I am,I signed up. They said there would be an installation charge of $1000 pesos whicj I agreed to. The following Friday they arrived to install the system. When the tech was finished, I ran a speed check and saw I was getting 19 mg...a far cry from their advertizement! I told the tech and he shrugged his shoulders and left. The following morning, Aug 14th, I had no interner! The next 2 days, the same. I disconnected the modem and went to Telmex and cancelled. They sais gee, that's too bad but you still have to pay for installation. Went again this morning, after receiving a bill, and, got the same story! Must be nice to have a business where you don't have to care about your clients! Obviously Carlos needs the money!
  7. We have a 2 ton LG mini-split air conditioner in our living room. About a week ago, we thought we' " crank itup" for about an hour. Grabbed the remote, punched the button and, nada! Replaced the batteries and still nothing. We called the repair company in Riberas and, after the usual of phone calls not being returned and texts ignored the technicians(?) showed up. They checked a few things and told us that the u it was shot, then, proceeded to try to sell a new one. Heidi and I discussed it and agreed to the purchase. After more run around, I cancelled the whole thing. Yesterday, a friend stopped by and put a new fuze in the unit (30 pesos) and it came to life! So, I guess my suggestion would be, be careful! Heidi and Rick
  8. I have no idea...all I know is we're going back this week. Loved it!
  9. Damn, is there any way I can remove my "review" on a sandwich???? This is ridiculous!
  10. Hi Gringohombre! I'm so terribly sorry that I caused you such a problem! I couldn't think of any landmarks and I know how difficult googleing can be! God forbid you're ever faced waith a real dilema such as which utensil to use for soup! I can't believe how some people dig and dig for something to criticize! Buena suerte!
  11. I forgot to mention the sanwick is flattened on a sandwich press and served hot...and yummy!
  12. Heidi and I both had REAL cuban sandwiches at Sabor del Caribe in Riberas today and they were fantastic. Best I've had since leaving Florida! The sandwich is ham, pork (cooked the Cuban way!), swiss cheese, pickles and mustard...served with fries for $85 pesos. I would have gladly paid much more! All kinds of goodies on the menu at excellent prices. They bake their own bread and pastries. Took a loaf home and Heidi at about 1/3 befoer we arrived! Damn, it was good!
  13. Yeah, that's the one! Thanks for your input!
  14. Has anyone had experience with this streaming device? We currently are using Dish...they keep dropping channels and, yet, the price remains the same! The latest victim is ABC. 19. I talked tk Carlos today about the fries. The problem is that he's not blanching the fries...just cooking as they're ordered. I explained about blanching and he said he'd do it! Burger was great today...as usual!
